Hee!
I just got my annual Christmas wrapping paper from my company in the mail. (ATP sends out a box of wrapping paper with matching bows, tags, and tissue to all of its authors, as well as vendors and big-name clients. All of us Bob Cratchitts get some, too.) This year all of us illustrators were given a shot at designing the card that goes with the wrapping paper, this year's is absolutely great. However, I have to wonder who did the inside. "Season's Greetings from American Technical Publisher's." Publisher's?!?!? We're a publishing house, and there's a freaking typo inside the card. Ack!
I really hope Illustrator X didn't do the inside, because the last thing he needs is for everyone to come up to him and mention the typo. He's had a bad enough time with people giving him shit lately. But still! So cute!

The pressure!
Tonight Dad told me what he wants for Christmas. This is a big order to fill. Okay, so when my parents went on their last halfway-across-the-country driving vacation, I made a few CDs of stuff for them to listen to on the way. Well, Dad really liked the stuff I put together, and now he's asked if I could make him a bunch of music mixes now that he has a car of his own. (He and Mom have been sharing since he retired, but he picked up his new one today.) Now I have to troll through all of my music and try to pick out stuff I think Dad will like. What the hell kind of music does my dad listen to? I figure anything played on the "adult pop/rock" radio station here in town is fair game, right? But man, disc after disc of stuff like Howie Day and Los Lonely Boys and the Goo Goo Dolls, I'd like to give him something with a bit more oompf. A hard rock mix, with stuff like Tool and Audioslave on it, or a disc of mellow stuff for when he's dealing with bad traffic, with bands like Zero 7 or Morcheeba. But I don't know how well that would go over...
Any suggestions?
Also, my cat has just discovered the joy of bubble wrap. Hee!
