Re: yakgirl rebuts...

I understand that you don't have the money-- duh. I can read.

Second, check your sources. The cost of living out here is WORSE than in Chicago. Just because we were able to buy a house for what that condo costs, doesn't mean we could today. Need I remind you that the assessed value of our house for taxes lists it as being worth almost half a million right now??? And that's still less than it's market value. Crazy, yes. Therefore, our cost of living is higher than in Chicago. And yes, our tax rates are even higher. Trust me.

I am aware that you do not want to live in the suburbs, that is not my point. And I commend you for wanting to live in the city-- it's a great place. I also am aware that condos in Chicago are not cheap, again with the "duh." I just thought you had gotten the "kick in the pants" back when you helped said friend find a condo in the first place. I am not yelling at you because of where you want to live, only that the cost of such living is currently out of your grasp. From the earlier post, it seemed as if, should you somehow receive $14,000, you would be able to afford such living. It seems now, from your reply, that you are aware that you are not. Should, however, yakpoo and I hit the lottery, we would buy you said condo outright. Because you're an awesome sister, and you deserve it.

Now, can we quit yelling? Good. I love you!
