I love the all-out rain, too. All the thunderstorms we've been having lately have been wonderful. (Has it been storming more this year, or am I just noticing it more now that I'm in a house again?)
Re: Dune, I thought the David Lynch one was boring. I'm not even sure if I ever finished it. I know I've certainly tried several times but would eventually lose interest and start doing other things around the house while the movie continued on in the background.
The miniseries, on the other hand! I've only seen it once and have been wanting to rewatch it for several years now! (Come to think of it, I should just buy it since it had been The Ex's copy I had watched...) I liked it so much that I tried reading the book, only to feel the same glaze of boredom from the David Lynch movie set in. Maybe I'm just bad with narrations. But, yes, the miniseries should hopefully be a better experience for you, too!
