I should be sleeping

I'm wide awake. So awake. Wheeeeeeeee! It's 1:30 in the morning, and I'm wide awake!

After work I went to the parents' house, but first deposited my paycheck, then dropped my car off at the car dealership for work. They're supposed to call me with an estimate tomorrow, and then I'll pick it up (somehow) on Sunday. Fun. Then Dad and I went to get dinner, and I scarfed down some food, and then Mom and I went to Costco to buy food for the party tomorrow and I found out that Goose Island sells beer in what they call a "pub pack" which is two bottles of six different kinds of beer and OMG there's so much beer in my fridge right now. So there's beer and tonic water and limes and vodka and gin and Coke and rum and stuff for margaritas, and then mushroom/garlic/feta/artichoke pastry puffs and mini quiche and spanikopita and then cream puffs and DAMMIT I forgot to get the Halloween Oreos from my trunk before I took my car in to get it fixed. Oh well. So there's a lot of food. [livejournal.com profile] taraljc is coming over early to make pumpkin soup, which is really cool. And I think [livejournal.com profile] fava_bean is coming over early as well to shower (she still has no hot water at her new apartment) and then Mom is coming back over and we're going to work on the hem of the kimono she made me and MY GOD it's gorgeous. She did an amazing job. She's actually glad I passed it off on her because the silk brocade was a bitch to work with but as always Mom did a bang-up job sewing because she's great like that. I hand-stitched the cuffs, and now the hem needs to be done. Actually, I should be working on that right now. Hmmmm, maybe I'll do that and pop in Interview with the Vampire on my computer to watch while I sew. That would make Mom so happy to not have to deal with this in the morning. Then she'd help me clean! Ooooh, I'm sneaky.

Maybe I should get some sleep, because I'm rambling.

HALLOWEENPARTYTOMORROWOMGI'MSONOTREADYEEEEEEEEEE!

OMG - I'm still up, too, except I'm going to bed now. Stayed up late making the Monkeys' costumes and figured I'd see what chapter we're going to read tomorrow in class. Saw that a paper on Conrad's "Heart of Darkness" is due. Hah! It's only a short paper, so I'm finished. Let's hope the paper makes sense. (Unlike this response.)

Go to bed! Have a fun party. :)

Happy Halloween!

I love us.

That is all.

No, wait, it's not. Did you like Heart of Darkness? I think I'm one of the only people in the world who likes that story. I did a paper on it in college, and compared/contrasted it with Apocalypse Now. If you haven't seen that movie, you may want to now, if only to see how it relates to the story.

I only skimmed HoD for relevant quotes to use in my paper. I'm going to give it a more thorough reading later, though, because what I read intrigued me.

Heh, I shoulkd still be asleep considering I was shopping for five effing hours yesterday in order to get my costume together. The ned result is cute, but something that people less insane that I could have pulledtogether in a much shorter amount of time. Lesson learned? Ragstock is da shiznit when it comes to costumes.

[identity profile] eee1313.livejournal.com 2004-10-30 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, I've never been to Ragstock.

And YAY for another person with a costume! What fun!

Oh, and I just came across some Halloween Oreos on the weekly Target visit so I'll be brining those along too!

[identity profile] eee1313.livejournal.com 2004-10-30 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Fabulous! I had some, but I left them in the trunk of my car, which is currently at the car dealership.

[identity profile] xica-s.livejournal.com 2004-10-30 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I read that which is why I kept an eye out for them. It was either those or twinkies with green filling *gross*

Your mom rules. Props to her. And hello to her as well, if she remembers me.

[identity profile] eee1313.livejournal.com 2004-10-30 01:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course she remembers you! Actually, we were just talking about you last night. Remember that time that you, me, KC, and Vicki went trick-or-treating together? I was Eponine (such a dork), KC was an elephant, and Vicki was a hooker. Ah, Vicki. For the life of me I couldn't remember what you were dressed up as. Mom laughed at the story, especially that Vicki was a hooker. Odd girl, that Vicki.

Oh man, I do remember that! I don't remember what I went as that year, though.

Hope you have and awesome party! I'm stuck in Aurora till 11:30 or so tonight ;( but I can't wait to read the lj writeup!

[identity profile] eee1313.livejournal.com 2004-10-30 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Booooooo! Sorry you won't be here (although you're welcome to drop by after you get off if you'd like). Is your wife coming?

[identity profile] jasunshine.livejournal.com 2004-10-31 07:04 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, I just got home NOW! We had an insane day at work. Our General Manager decided that all the "open box" stuff HAD to go TODAY, no matter what. We sold a guy a table full of stuff that rang up at $1700 for $25. Consequently, I was there till 12:45 ringing stuff up. Craziness!

Heard from Michele, however, that your party was a blast! Wish I'd been able to see your costume. Pictures on the web soon?
