Shopping WTF?

I've recently been shopping for Christmas items and whatnot. I saw two weird things at Target which I feel the need to share with you.

1. Santa cat costume.

2. LotR Pez.

These are the reason cell phone cameras were invented.

Oh my... there is absolutely NO WAY any cat alive would allow you to put that on them. Unless you drugged them first.

I must admit, though, that I've seen the LotR Pez set before and been mildly tempted by it. The weirdest thing to me is that it's just coming out now... instead of, I don't know, ten years ago when the movies were first coming out.

LOL! My first thought when I saw the Pez was, Hey! I sent Fen Star Wars Pez one year!" (Or were they Star Trek? Damn, my mind is gone.)

My sister's ex-boyfriend had a cat who would allow his owners to dress him up for Halloween. It was a beautiful white Persian cat, and my mom made it a bright red devil costume one year. So there ARE some cats who'll let their owners dress them up. However, I don't believe any cat would allow the indignity that is the Santa beard. Oy vey...

It was the beard that made me think that one just simply would work... too fluffy/stringy. There's no way a cat would let that get anywhere near their face without trying to attack it.

This is true. It is also true that there were pot plants growing around the apartment and that the cat would occasionally nibble them, thus adding to its already "mellow" attitude. And that cat wouldn't have needed a fake beard; its beautiful Persian fluff would have made it a natural Santa, real beard and all.

At first I was like, why is Yoda with the LotR people? Then I realised it was supposed to be Gollum. I would love to see a cat in a costume, but I would fear for the people trying to get said cat into a costume.
