Just got home from the last night of Yakgirl's visit. Once again, we saw slides my parents took back in the late 70s/early 80s. Most of them were of Yakgirl (first child syndrome -- lots of pics of her, few of me). We did see an absolutely adorable one of just-home-from-the-hospital me making faces at my dad, who was making faces back at me. Seriously, so awesome. I want to scan the slide and save it and show y'all, just because it's that. cute.

So I'm home, but it's late. I would have been home 20 minutes ago, but there's late-night construction on the Ike, which meant the drive home was a bitch. Grrrr. I still haven't watched Angel, and I know I won't until tomorrow night. I'm too tired right now. If y'all could warn me before you start discussing it in your LJs, I'd appreciate it. I know you can do whatever the hell you want, but just a head's up like: "So last night's Angel was awesome because..." so that I can know to skip it. You have every right just to blurt out "OMGLindseyisSOHAWT!!!!1!!!!11!!!!" but it'd be super-keen of you to give me a warning first. Because it's all about me, you know. ;)

When I got home tonight I found a note on the door saying that the landlord is having a banker come and appraise the building, which means random checks of any apartment the banker sees fit to choose. Which means there's a chance someone will be poking around in my apartment on Friday. Which means I have to clean tomorrow night like a fiend. It'd be just my luck they would choose my apartment, and then I'd get a note from management reading "Please do your dishes, you're bringing down the value of the building." I know I'm overreacting, but I don't like people to see my place messy if they don't know me. My friends? Yeah, they can see it messy all they want, I don't care. But I don't like the idea of random strangers thinking I'm a pig. Also, my landlord sucks for giving us less than 48 hours to prepare.

I feel badly for being gone so much lately. In the past eleven days, I've been home (other than for sleeping purposes) exactly one day. That's a lot of time to be away from my cat. So I brought her fresh catnip, plucked from right under the fir tree in front of my parents' house. Now she's high as a kite, and I feel like I'm not the worst cat owner in the world.

Anyway, I'm going to bed. I need sleep.
