Today's blog, which quickly degenerates into some depressing stuff, even though I myself am not depressed and am having a rather okay day. In fact, I'm doing quite well. Though I saw someone eating Chipotle and am now craving a burrito.

Hooray!

ABC Family Channel is finally playing I Want to Marry Ryan Banks again! Yay! I love this movie so. It's such my ultimate girly movie. Plus, Bradley Cooper! After that comes Celeste in the City, which I will also be watching for Nicholas Brendan playing a gay hairdresser and Ethan Embry as the cute boy next door. It's all good.

Feeling very "meh" this morning. That's probably why I'm eating carrot cake for breakfast. Heh.

Last night I hung out with BJ, which was nice. I bought the ingredients for dinner, so he made it. I hate cooking, so that all worked out well. Had spaghetti carbonara with fresh roasted garlic bread and this amazing herb salad. So tasty. Then we sat around and watched the director's cut of Donnie Darko, which I hoped would make things clearer that I felt weren't explained well in the original cut. Not so much. Some of the changes I liked much better, but in the end I just don't get this movie. I mean, I get it, but I don't understand why it's so beloved. They say it's a time travel movie, but it seems more like an alternate reality type thing, and no matter what it seems to fold in on itself so that it doesn't really add up. I think it suffers for trying to be too many things at once. So yeah, as much as it's an interesting movie to watch, I still don't think it's all that great. Meh.

I got home really late and was too tired to clean my contact lenses, so today I'm rocking the glasses. Blech. Remind me not to drive, because this prescription is old, and I can't see things well with the glasses on.

Still haven't watched last night's Battlestar Galactica. Or last week's BSG, either. What's up with that?

I started reading Philip K. Dick's Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? last night. At 3 a.m. Why do I do stuff like that to myself? Now I'm tempted to spend all day in my big comfy red armchair reading. That would make me happy. I just may do it.

Bwa ha ha!

So I'm watching Best Week Ever on VH1, and one of their focus stories is about BSG. I expected them to rag on it, but instead everyone was gushing about how awesome it is. Aw yeah. The best part was the very last comment:

"Apparantly they went the extra step and hired writers and real actors."

HA HA HA HA! Yeah, that pretty much sums up exactly what's wrong with nearly everything else on TV right now. Heh.

BSG wowza

Damn, that's a good show. (I say that every week, don't I?) But seriously, holy crap!

And of course, I made icons. Spoilery icons here! )

Anyway, I love this show. I'll let [livejournal.com profile] queenofthorns do all the real recapping, because she's smart like that, and I'm not. Heh.
eee1313: (BSG - Awake)
This show continues to be the best damn thing I'm watching on TV. Then again, the rest of my TV-watching menu ain't all that great. Smallville? Crap on a stick (but pretty!). Stella? I just watch that for my Michael Ian Black crush (though at times it makes me laugh really hard at stupid stuff.) Firefly reruns? Well, you can't go wrong there. But Battlestar? That's my brain food for TV. The rest is all empty calorie TV-watching.

Here be spoilers for those that taped it and will watch it later. )

I made icons. The Gaius ones were [livejournal.com profile] taraljc's idea. I made two, because one looks pathetic, and one looks rather sinister. The second is perfect for flamewars! I like them both.

Now I'm off to bed. I'm exhausted. Sixteen Candles is on, and as much as I love this movie, I'm not staying up to watch it. Plus, I just saw it two weeks ago with [livejournal.com profile] fava_bean and BJ. So I'm off to bed. Later.
eee1313: (BSG/Futurama - CaG)
I just finished watching last night's BSG. Thoughts on the show. )

And on a non-BSG related topic, gin & tonics are gooooood. Or at least they were last night. I'm feeling it now, let me tell you. So now I'm going to go dye my hair (go away, gray hair) and recover. Later tonight I'm going to [livejournal.com profile] fava_bean's place, so I need to be coherent by 7. Ugh. Is that really only five and a half hours away?

Floopy

I'm feeling so floopy right now. Seriously, weird. It may be lack of sleep. Friday was BJ's birthday, so I hung out with him till very late in the morning. Saturday afternoon was spent at [livejournal.com profile] deeablo's, where I saw [livejournal.com profile] fishdoctorpost for the first time in ages. Then [livejournal.com profile] fava_bean and I went out to dinner with BJ for his birthday, and we all drank too much sangria and fava and I were DRUNK and giggly, and I got home late, and then woke up early this morning. Mom and I drove to Michigan to meet Yakgirl and Poo-flung, and Yakgirl and Baby Yakpoo hitched a ride with us back to Chicago and I spent the entire day in a car playing with my nephew who is without a doubt the cutest thing ever. Then I felt ill, Yakgirl drove me home, and I watched Friday night's episode of BSG which has left me feeling rather unsettled. I think I need more sleep. So I'm going to bed, and it's not even 10:00 by my watch.

Ugh. Do I have to go to work tomorrow?

Awesome.

SciFi will be showing the entire series of Firefly on Friday nights starting July 22. (7 p.m. EST, 6 p.m. CST.) So any of you who never saw the show will now have a chance to watch it -- all -- free of charge. The fact that Firefly and BSG will be on the same night is just making my little fangirl geek heart go all squishy. If only there weren't two hours of Stargate and Atlantis wedged in between. (Apologies to any of you who like those shows. I just can't get into them.) Simon and Helo, back-to-back? I'd die. And no, not like that. o_O Pervs.

And [livejournal.com profile] fava_bean is supposed to come over later today to marathon episodes 9-13 of BSG. It should be geeky fun.

Because I'm a dork.

In other news, tonight's Everwood didn't suck the will to live from my body. In fact, it wasn't half bad. Gregory Smith was great tonight. Also? Ephram is made of cheese. [livejournal.com profile] deeablo should be happy.

Holy crap!

I just finished watching BSG. Even though I knew what happened in the very last scene, damn if that wasn't shocking! Oh, Boomer, what have you done? Stupid! Stupid! Aaaaaaah! And Helo? I don't care if your Cylon girlfriend is pregnant, she's a CYLON!!! Helo, sweetie, don't be stupid! And Roslin? Adama? Apollo? Man, there's mutiny afoot everywhere, isn't there? Geeeeez! I'm using exclamation points everywhere, aren't I? Aw, crap, that's a good show. Is it July yet!?!?!?

Methinks I'll have to change my "sleeper" Boomer icon to read "awake." Holy crap!
eee1313: (BSG - Helo)
Have spent the day catching up on BSG. Damn, why wasn't I paying attention all this time? Why does the show have to be on Friday nights, when I'm all busy and shit? And why is Helo so sexxxay? Seriously, he's going to kill me. Y'all can fight over Apollo, I want me some Helo. When he got all wet? Rrrrawr! But seriously, this is so good. Halfway through "The Hand of God," when Adama gave Apollo his grandfather's lighter, and it's such an "awwww" moment. So sweet. Oh, also, Ellen Tigh? HOR!!! Seriously, why do we have to share a name? This isn't as good as when Lex dated Helen on Smallville and I could pretend he was saying my name. Hearing Tigh say his wife's (and my) name makes me feel squicky. She sucks. I hope she's a Cylon, so I can watch her die. DIE!!! Oh, also? If Cylon Boomer yakking is a sign that she's pregnant with Helo's half-human/half-Cylon baby, I won't be happy one bit.

Side note: The other day I was watching Futurama, and it was the episode when Bender get broken and joins Beck's head as a washboard player. They have the Bend-Aid concert to benefit broken robots, and there's Cylon and Garfunkel playing "Scarborough Fair." Lord, that made me laugh. I want an icon of Cylon and Garfunkel. Too awesome.
