Okay, I just got a package in the mail here at work. It's my
Freaks and Geeks DVD set! Eeeeeeeeeeee! I've been waiting for this to come out on DVD since 2000. It's the reason I bought a DVD player in the first place! And I got the super-special package, with a mock McKinley High School yearbook, and two extra discs of bonus footage! And there's a bit in there about the campaign to save the show. I still have and wear my "dodge balls is kind of a stupid game, isn't it?" shirt that I bought to help pay for the Variety ad. (That's the only time I've ever done such a thing.) But now? Now I have the show. The entire show. With all of the original music. It's all right here, in front of me, and I'm squeeing like a fanatical Michael Rosenbaum fan who just found his home address and a spot in the bushes to stalk him 24/7. Except it's not Michael Rosenbaum. It's Paul Feig and Judd Apatow and Linda Cardellini and Seth Rogan, and James Franco and Martin Starr and Joe Flaherty and Busy Phillipps and EEEEEEEEEEE! Millie! Tuba Girl! Mr. Rosso! So freaking excited. I can't wait to get home and watch these.
In other news, do you remember that song from about 1997 called "Brimful of Asha," by Cornershop? That was a favorite in my college dorm room, and it seems others liked it as well. I copied it for BJ this weekend, and he sent me
this article about it today. It seems the song had more to it than just Bollywood references. Interesting!
