Ticket woes
Sep. 13th, 2004 08:38 amSo this morning the news told me that tickets for Monty Python's Spamalot were going on sale at 9:00 a.m. In case you don't know, it's the musical version of Monty Python and the Holy Grail starring Tim Curry, Hank Azaria, and David Hyde Pierce. Hank can do no wrong in my book (except for that whole Helen Hunt thing, but I like to think he was her beard), I loves me some DHP, and while Tim Curry's been sucking hard lately, his early career was brilliant and so I will continue to forgive him. The point of this? I went online to get tickets (for all 26 shows, two of which are on Christmas day and another four are on New Year's Eve day/New Year's Day) to find that they went on sale on September 1. What the? So the newscasters were talking about there being the Spamobile at the Schubert this morning, and Spamwiches given away to the first 100 ticket buyers at the box office, and yet this had already happened last week, apparantly. Liars! Bastards! Lying bastards! Needless to say, no tickets were available at all. Boo. Now I won't get to see it, and it will move on to Broadway, and everyone will love it there, just like they did The Producers. Dammit.
In other news, I talked to
fava_bean on Saturday night about getting tickets to see Jamie Cullom at the Park West. So I decided to pick those up since Spamalot fell through. Of course, his show is sold out already, too. Dammit again. Rufus Wainwright is going to be here again, and I could get tickets to see him, but I saw him with
spasticat a few months ago, and I can't justify spending money on tickets that I shouldn't be spending, anyway, and... Bah.
And speaking of money I shouldn't spend, I checked out my bill from Carson's this morning to find I overpaid it by $267. So now I have a negative balance, but seeing as how the money is held up in the credit card account, I can't get that $267 back without cancelling my card, and I don't want to do that. So I think I'm going to see what their bedframes are like at the store. I've been debating on getting a headboard for a while, and seeing as how right now my bed makes horrible creaking noises if I even look at it, much less lie down on it, this might be a smart move...
I can't believe I'm even awake right now. Stupid work.
