BAH!

The big boss is doing annual reviews right now. Thanks for the heads-up on this so I can properly prepare. I'm two people from the next meeting (the boss goes in order of our desks), and I'm getting really nervous. Do I go in expecting the best or the worst? Do I try arguing my points with him, or just tell him I'd like a follow-up at a later time?

...Erin is in there right now. I'll be interested to see how long her meeting lasts, seeing as how she's got more beef than any of us.

Good news!

The review went well. With the bonus I'm getting with my next paycheck, I'm bumped over $40,000. (Barely, but still. This is the milestone that I was hoping for.) This is good. I'm FINALLY back up to where I was right out of college.

Good news #2: There was a LENGTHY discussion with my boss regarding work at the office. A lot of the things he mentioned that he wanted from me are things that I already wanted to bring up with him. Like my work is BORING, and so he's going to have me start doing more writing work. I'm going to be put on developing resource guide materials, which will be reading through books, selecting pertinent information, and working to create instructional outlines and such for the books. Thank God. I also mentioned to him that I thought it would be a good idea to have one illustrator work as a quality-checker, to review all of the art for a book to make sure there's a consistent style. He thought this was a great idea and wants to put it into action. BOOYAH! See, I'm NOT just some idiot, I have IDEAS. I know things about how to make work around here more efficient! I am awesome!

So now it's the case of "Do I stay here for another year and see what this 'new direction' they're taking me will be like?", or do I try for something better? Right now, I'm rather pleased.

Oh, and I told him the whole "be at work at 8:00 a.m. on the nose" rule didn't make sense, and that me leaving the house 1 hour before work starts is already enough of a sacrifice, so he should cut me some more slack. Not in those words, obviously, but at least I said my piece.

ETA: Best. Mood theme icon. EVER.

It has come to my attention that several of my friends may not have seen some of these links. Therefore, I am reposting them. Take that!

Didn't understand the badger getting poked with a spoon icon from the other day? This should explain things. Sort of. (Warning: the song will infect your brain.)

This guy never fails to amuse me. I like when he does the Ruff Ryders dance.

Speaking of dancing, don't forget Spider-Man.

[livejournal.com profile] deeablo reminded me of Kikkoman. It's been a while since we've seen him. Ah, the insanity. Blame Greg.

For Gianna, I finally found the link of KRON TV's news bit on whistle tips. Woo woooooooo! I can't believe this was actually a news story, or that the newscaster tried to take someone named "Bubb Rubb" seriously. Oy.

And how could I forget the redubbed GI Joe videos that [livejournal.com profile] devildoll brought to my attention a while back? She's right in saying that the beginning of this one is always good for a laugh.

And now, I'm off to sleep to dream of Kikkoman and badgers.
