Bad news first

The bad news is that tonight I got a call from my uncle, who is in town house/pet/grandma-sitting while the parents are away. It seems our dog, Riley, had a seizure in the driveway and is now at the emergency vet. They think he had a stroke, but they can't be sure. Please, if you could, send some good juju the way of the western burbs to my dog. I just saw him this afternoon, and he was jumpy and happy and acting like his normal doggy self. Uncle Joe couldn't get through to our usual vet, and I don't know what all to do. I don't know if this is something serious, or a "he ate something weird" issue. I don't know. I don't want to be the one to have to make the call if worst comes to worst. But I'm not going to let my poor boo suffer. I love him too much to let him be in pain, I know that.

I wish my parents were here.

Better tooday

This morning I went out to meet with my uncle, and he and I picked up Riley from the emergency vet. He was all barking and wagging his tail and trying to run around, so he's definitely feeling better. Right now he's back at home, and we're just trying to get him to take it easy and sleep as much as possible so that he can recouperate. But yes, he's better. Let's hope he stays that way.
