Live, from Rhode Island
Jan. 15th, 2006 05:08 pm...it's Sunday afternoon! Woooooooo!
Yeah, so I'm out visiting my sis and her family. It's all a good time. Little Yakpoo ain't so little anymore. About 25 pounds, super tall for his height, and talking some. Definitely babbling a lot, which is adorable. Today I even changed a diaper and dressed him after his nap. (That's diaper #4, for anyone keeping a tally. And by "anyone," I guess I mean me.) Anyway, it's nice. We're just hanging out and chilling, which is good. Right now we've got the Bears game on, and we'll be having Italian beef sandwiches for dinner, which is oh so Chicago. Also, I've deemed that Rhode Island is the Alabama of the North. Don't ask.
So yeah, the trip is nice so far. It's really good and relaxing being here, and just really good to see Yakgirl and Poo-flung and little Yakpoo. And Bubba Gus, the most patient dog in the world. I am probably about as content and happy as I could possibly be.
All of this is good, because we got the bad news yesterday that my Aunt Ellen died. That's definitely not good news. At least we've had the past week to prepare, rather than having this be a complete surprise like it was last weekend when we got the call she was sick/dying. But today Yakgirl and I made butter tarts in her honor, and we got Nanimo bars from Tim Horton's as well. God bless Canadian pastries for making one feel better.
Changing topics completely, the Panthers just thought they had handed the Bears their asses, but the Bears handed it right back at 'em. Take THAT, Panthers! Ha ha! ...Man, this game is making me totally nervous, and it's barely started. I hope my dad's not watching it, because he'd be having an anuerism by now.
