Just about 26.5 hours to go...
Feb. 24th, 2007 04:49 pmI'm almost on vacation. ALMOST. Right now I'm at my parents' house, doing the last of the laundry and watching the rain/snow start to come down. We're under an ice storm warning until 6 a.m., which is good because our flight is at 6:15. ::headdesk:: Then again, they were saying yesterday it would be 1-5 inches of snow, and all that's blowing north of us, so hopefully things will be okay at O'Hare when we have to leave tomorrow. God, I hope so. I'm all paranoid we won't be able to leave on time. I hope that's not the case.
Tonight I'm picking up the Scientist around 6:30 to have dinner with my family at 7.![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
fava_bean is out in the burbs visiting her parents as well, so she'll be joining us. After dinner, the three of us are going to watch The Prestige, which hopefully holds up on a second viewing.
Last night after work I went over todeeablo's place, as people were in town to see Padelecki at the Fangoria thing. Except he cancelled, so who knows what all of them are going to do. I think they may end up going to meet some other online people I don't know. But anyway, I got there after work and the bigboobedcanuck and fenwic were there, along with bliss_ (whom I'd met once bofore, briefly) and baby_sis. angelchicken was the only other Chicagoan there, and we all ate pizza and watched The Covenant, which was one of the worst movies I've seen in forever. Seriously, I wouldn't even show it at Movie Dictator, it's that bad. AC left, and fennie fell asleep, so we watched The Apple, which I still love. Then I crashed out with deeablo (who has the softest bed I've EVER slept on), and we all woke up in the morning to have a VERY late brunch at Clarke's. I had to leave to get home, so I have no idea what the girls are doing today, but there's a chance sunbrae might be driving in to hang with them for a few hours, who knows. Either way, it was great to see some of the girls again, and great to meet those who I don't know very well.
Okay, I need to hop in the shower and get cleaned up (since I didn't do either this morning, really) before people come over tonight. FYI, I've figured out how to post to LJ from my camera phone, so I expect to do updates every day from the parks. I hope you all have a good week while I'm gone, and I'll talk to you when I get back!
And in the time I took to post that, the rain turned into sleet, then nothing, and now big snowflakes. WTF, WEATHER, DO NOT INTERFERE WITH MY TRAVEL PLANS.
