Oct. 1st, 2007 02:11 pmSo here's a weird coincidence for you... Today when I got back to work, I had an e-mail waiting for me from my friend Michelle. She linked to this video of Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back" done all Gilbert & Sullivan-style. Then Andrew linked it on his site. So I forwarded it to my coworker Krista, who laughed really hard at it. Then she noticed the username. It was done by another of our coworkers. WEIRD. What are the odds in that? He also did this one, "Cancer Has Become the Number One Killing Disease." Ha!
In other news, I am tired as all get-out. Basically I've been going at full speed since I left work on Wednesday. But on the bright side, things are DONE at the house. Wednesday night we cleaned, spackled, and primed the walls in the pink room. Thursday morning we painted the pink room (2 coats on top of 2 coats of primer), and then that afternoon the Scientist's brother G and sister-in-law R came over to help us paint the kitchen. Thursday night we went to O'Hare to pick up
yakgirl. But we had to wait in the cell phone lot for her call, at which point we talked to
deeablo on the phone and I changed shirts in the car. Yes, I was boobs-out in a parking lot, for those of you in on that joke. Then after we picked up yakgirl we sat around talking for hours and I think she and I scared the Scientist a bit. Heh.
Friday she left to do pre-wedding stuff, and the Scientist and I went back to the house where G met us, along with G's brother-in-law B. So the four of us painted the living room and the master bedroom. Then R came back over, and the guys left to pack the Scientist's apartment and she and I painted the two bathrooms. SO TIRED. On Saturday morning I swear I could barely move. We went to yakgirl's childhood best friend's wedding that day, and walking around in heels was not a good idea, because on Sunday I hurt more than normal. But the wedding was nice, so there's that. Anyway, yesterday a bunch of people showed up to help the Scientist move. G, R, B, the Scientist's dad, his friend K and her husband, and his two sisters showed up eventually. All of his stuff has been moved in, and after everyone cleared out we brought my cat over. She came out from under the sofa this morning, and she's been having fun running up and down the stairs.
I am covered in bruises, and there's still paint under my fingernails, but I have a home.
And in other news, I just wanted to say yay to the following people for numerous different reasons:
queenofalostart,
missrachael,
fenchurche, and
noseyroser. Also, a big preemptive thank you to
tiaralynn, who will be taping HIMYM and Heroes for me, as we don't have cable and now won't get TV until Thursday.
