Dammit all!
Oct. 16th, 2007 11:13 amSo my landlord called last night to say that the apartment is "dirty." I talked with them just now, and it seems I didn't clean the oven out, or the tub well enough. They're going to charge me $75 for EACH thing they have to clean. WTF!?!?! So now I have to drive back to Oak Park tonight and clean this shit out or else I'm getting a minimum of $150 taken out of my security deposit. They also won't let me just leave the sofa out back, so now I have to find someone to remove it or else lose $500 for the removal fee. Are you kidding? They left a sofa in my apartment THE DAY I MOVED IN, and yet they're not cutting me any slack here? F*** that! I'm so pissed.
I was a model tennant for years. I never complained, I always paid my rent on time, and when they didn't fix my ceiling after that leak, I didn't bitch. But this is just ARRRRRGH! And if I could track down that idiot college kid who screwed me over by not taking my sofa, I totally would.
I have no idea what to do if I can't find anyone to take the sofa via Craigslist. Do any of you have suggestions for ways that I can get rid of this sofa immediately? I can't find any charities who'd do pickup, or else I would have done that already. I'm at a loss as to what to do.
I'm glad that the Scientist is working a late shift tonight, so now I can go work on the apartment without feeling bad about not getting work done at home, as he won't be there.
God, I am SO READY to be DONE with Oak Park.
