First of all, I'd like to wish a very HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY to two awesome people: abby20 and manoosha. abby, it has been absolutely wonderful getting to know you better over the past few years. You are without a doubt one of the most hilariously sarcastic people I've ever had the pleasure of calling a friend. You crack me up regularly, and I love you to bits for it. Thanks for always being awesome, and I hope your birthday was everything you wanted, and more. noosh, it's great being back in touch with you all these years later. Your posts always make me grin, and now whenever I see the "Single Ladies" video I think of you, so thanks for that. No, really! Anyway, I hope your birthday was great, too. May both of you enjoy your next year, and I hope only amazing things happen for you both.

In other words, I think my cough is almost gone. My sister-in-law gave me some Mucinex last night, and it's working wonders on getting this crap out of my chest and sinuses. Blech. But I think I'm finally on my way to fully recovered. Wooooo!

So yesterday was pretty awesome. Recently, fava_bean and I got back in touch with our old high school friend, A. Since fava was out in the burbs yesterday, the three of us got together for the first time in years and years. A and I saw each other... maybe about four years ago? But I can't remember the last time the three of us were together. Anyway, it was absolutely wonderful to see her again. So much has changed in all of our lives since we last talked, but we all just fell back into our friendship like no time had passed. We just joked and laughed and talked for hours. Seriously, it was so nice to see A again. She's living near me now, so hopefully I'll get to see her a lot more. YAY!!!

Nothing much else is going on with me. Tonight is HIMYM night, so that's good. And the Scientist is making chili for dinner. Mmmm. Tomorrow is SUPER OBAMA DAY, but due to my CPU being on the floor, the headphone jack being in the back, and my headphones not having a long enough cord, I won't be able to stream the inauguration speeches online and listen to them live while I work. Feh. I'm going to try to find the earpiece for my phone and listen to it over the radio that's in there.

Oh, here's a random question: is anyone else out there totally psyched to see Underworld: Rise of the Lycans? I mean, this movie is destined to be shlocky crap, but I'm seriously geared up for that movie to come out this weekend. There's something about the Underworld movies that totally does it for me. Vampires with guns! Werewolves with bad clothing! Ridiculous dialog! Bill Nighy with fangs—now he can REALLY chew the scenery! Dude, I can't wait. ...I need some Underworld icons...
