Lately the cat has taken to being outside. Our lawn is fenced in, so there's nowhere for her to go. We've been letting her hang out there in the sun while we do stuff inside, and I check on her periodically to make sure that she's okay. This routine has been working for us all, as it gives her enough time outdoors that she no longer sits at the front door and demands to be let out, thus giving us some peace and quiet. (The "demanding" consists of constant, non-stop meowing as loudly as she can, which is ANNOYING.)

Two days ago, the association came through and sealcoated all the driveways in the neighborhood. This meant that we couldn't park on our driveway or in the garage till last night. The Scientist hadn't moved his car off the street until I had already gone upstairs for bed, so around 10:30 he went to pull the car into the garage.

This morning I got up, got ready for work, and at 8:00 opened the front door to find the cat huddled under the grill. It seems that she snuck out last night when the Scientist moved the car, and she spent the entire night outside. Poor thing! At the same time, hopefully she'll learn a lesson about sneaking out the front door. And moreso, hopefully this will cure her of wanting to be outside all the damn time. Still, I feel bad for my poor cat, and I had to get to work and therefore couldn't spend quality time with the potentially traumatized cat. But the Scientist gave her treats and promised to give her a good scratching, so there you are.
