Dec. 7th, 2009 02:15 pmFirst off, thanks to everyone who sent me virtual cookies!
spicedrum,
sunbrae,
dionneshea,
angelchicken,
disbelief11, and
devildoll, you are all awesome. Thank you very much for thinking of me.
This weekend was Christmas-palooza in my house. I got my Christmas tree fully assembled, lit, and decorated. Wooooo! I didn't put on all the ornaments this year, just because it's too much work. I mean, I could have a tree that looks like my mother's, but do I really want/need that? Not this year, especially considering I'll be out at
yakgirl's house for several days. So yeah, not really necessary. Anyway, I have it all done, and the boxes all stacked to go back into the garage rafters, and the house is relatively clear of Christmas clutter. Then yesterday I wrapped all of the gifts that still needed wrapping, so that's done. Go, me! I am on the ball this year. Of course, that means there will be some kind of EPIC FAIL down the line, but for now, it's all good. Next project: cookie baking.
I am also happy because the Scientist was able to book a flight out to
yakgirl's as well. Hooray! So he'll be there for 2/3 of the time that I'm there, which will be great. I'm so happy he can come. My nephews are really excited about seeing him as well, which is adorable.
This morning I woke up and there was SNOW! Hooray! Everything was all pretty and white and the trees were all frosted. I thought the commute would be a mess so I got on the road 15 minutes early, only to find that the worst snow (that I saw) was right by our house. There was barely any snow at all by the time I reached my office. I felt a bit dumb clomping into the office in my snow boots, but considering they don't salt the parking lot I'm not going to take any chances. I hope it hasn't completely melted back home, because it was pretty while it lasted. Of course, there may be a major snow dump later this week, at which point I'll curse the sky as I'm stuck in traffic on I-80, but whatever. For now, snow = love.
