Last night I went to a preview screening of Kick-Ass. (Thanks, Steve!) I really, really, really enjoyed the hell out of this movie. Hyper-violent, very tongue-in-cheek, hilarious, and thoroughly entertaining. If you like superhero movies, action movies, really smartly funny movies, or comic books, go see this when it comes out on April 16.
Also, if anyone is stupid enough to see Hit-Girl in commercials and think "Oh look, it's a kid superhero, I'll take my eight-year-old to see this movie" and then complain about the level of violence and gore, they deserve to get PUNCHED IN THE FACE by everyone and anyone. This movie earns its R rating through and through. And it's awesome.
Also, this movie does for Nicholas Cage what Tropic Thunder did for Tom Cruise: it makes me realize that they both have a wicked sense of humor, and makes me like them both again.
