Chicago area people - cat needs a home

Are you or is anyone you know thinking of getting a pet? I ask because today R told me that her brother leaves behind a cat, and it's in need of a new home. Neither R or her parents can adopt Bill's cat as they both have dogs. They've put feelers out, but so far no one has given a definitive yes on adopting Blackie. I'd consider taking the cat myself except that my allergies hate every cat except my own. Bill's family is looking for a good home for the cat, so if you know of anyone, please let me know and I'll pass the word along.

Here's the info on the cat: Blackie is 2-3 years old, male, all black with yellow eyes. He was originally adopted from the Naperville Humane Society, and he's been fixed and has been microchipped. However, he does have claws. From what I've heard, Blackie is a very sweet cat with a good disposition.
