eee1313: (Sesame Street Fever)
[livejournal.com profile] cincodemaygirl recently pointed her flist in the direction of this link. It's a TON of old-school Sesame Street songs in .mp3 and .avi formats. This website has songs that are most definitely not available on the market today, and some of these songs I'd completely forgotten until I heard them last night. Best of all are a few links to songs off the Sesame Street Fever album, which we had when I was a kid. [livejournal.com profile] yakgirl and I listened to that one a lot, which probably explains her early love of the BeeGees. (There was a lunch box involved, as well as a playground fight about Beatles vs. BeeGees. Guess which side she was on?)

Anyway, if you're an old-school Sesame Street fan, I highly recommend checking this page out. There are some really rare songs up there. Also, lots of original versions of the songs, unlike what's available on the albums released today. I don't need the celebrity versions of the songs I loved from my childhood, thank you very much. AND it's almost completely free of Elmo, so that's a bonus. Seriously, though, you can't be upset when listening to the disco version of Sesame Street songs.

ETA: Kind of funny this came to my attention now, as 20 years ago yesterday marks the passing of Jim Henson. It's great that all these years later his work is still so popular and influential. Way to go, Jim.
