It seems I only post these days when it's someone's birthday...

Happy birthday to the wonderfully evil [livejournal.com profile] deeablo! I was lucky enough to join her and Francois the dinosaur for her birthday celebration last night, where I also saw [livejournal.com profile] mei_x, [livejournal.com profile] aj, and [livejournal.com profile] angelchicken, whom I haven't seen in at least two years. Hooray! So in summation, happy birthday to deeablo. If it weren't for her, I probably wouldn't know ANY of you, since she was my first online friend that I met in person and from there I met so many more people. So there you are.

Quick REAL update from me.

I'm in full Halloween spirit, but I'm way behind on actual Halloween-ing. We have a sign on the gate, spiderwebs on the fence, two strings of lights in the back window, and two skulls in the garden. That's it. However, we have a ton of Halloween stuff going on. Today we took the kid to "Boo at the Zoo" and she got to wear her dinosaur costume to see the dinosaurs one last time. There were lots of pumpkins and tons of kids in costumes. Next week we have two Halloween parties for her, as well for one for ourselves. And then there's trick-or-treating at my office and then around the neighborhood on actual Halloween.

Meanwhile, as soon as Halloween is over we need to start cleaning the house for the kid's birthday party in early November. My parents will be coming to visit and her second birthday party is just family. But seeing how big the Scientist's family is, that's a lot more people in our house than we normally have. Hence, the cleaning.

And then not too far in the future is Christmas, which just BLOWS MY MIND that I'm already thinking Christmas. I have a lot of gifts already bought, which takes some pressure off. But this year is my Christmas tree, which means I have to sort my ornaments to get non-breakables on it so that the kid doesn't break anything, and... Yeah, I can't believe I'm already thinking of Christmas.

Anyway, that's life. Work is fine, the Scientist is well, and the kid said her name for the first time tonight. Hooray! And now she's out of the tub, so it's my turn to dry her off and get her in jammies. Take care!
