I'm totally not feeling the Sherlock love this season. It feels as if they're more concerned about the Johnlock bromance than they are telling a good detective story. I'm sorry, but spoiler for last night )

I don't know. Two out of three episodes have felt like fan pandering to me. I guess I'll stick to watching Elementary if I want to see a more in-character modernization should episode three disappoint.

::points to icon:: I wish I had a polar bear that would let me ride on its back. Getting around these days would be much more fun. And a polar bear wouldn't need new tires, which is what's going on right now in my world. I'm at the car dealership getting 2 new tires. God bless the free wi-fi here.

So, what's going on with me? This past weekend I did something I've never done before: I went to Chuck E. Cheese. It was the Scientist's nephew's birthday, so that was the chosen venue. Good God, is that place loud! Growing up, there was a place near my house with a similar concept called Enchanted Castle. I thought Chuck E. Cheese would be the same, namely, the restaurant area would be separate from the arcade. Noooope. The poor adults are stuck right there in the middle of all that madness. But the kids had fun, and VEE had a blast in the toddler area. All she wanted to do was "drive" the Stuart Little car. Every day since then she's asked to go back to the birthday party. If only it weren't so loud, kid.

What else? Work has been weird lately. I thought morale was bad before, but it gets worse daily. More and more people openly vent about how they hate upper management, how they hate the way people aren't appreciated, etc. Except that no one is willing to leave because we have steady paychecks and insurance. I just want to be left alone to do my work. Right now I'm doing okay at work because they're letting me test InCopy with my favorite editor. It's nice to not feel stagnant with my skills. Thought I need to take advantage of the Lynda.com account I have for the rest of the month and do more tutorials for Photoshop and Illustrator.

My daughter is still obsessed with all things Peter Pan. We've watched the original Disney version and its sequel about a jillion times in the past week. Of course, she'll now be getting a plush Peter doll for either Valentine's Day or in her Eastser basket (depending on when it arrives in the mail). I guess we're not helping her obsession...

That's pretty much it for me. I hope you're all doing well and staying warm in this cold. An aside: today it's warmer in Alaska thanhere in Chicagoland. Wheeeeee!
