The party's over

Regency House Party just ended. Damn, but I enjoyed that. Seriously. So enjoyable.
I am so, SO glad that Miss Hopkins chose Mr. Everett in the end. I don't know what the deal was with Mr. Carrington, but something about him just grated my cheese. I would have been really disappointed with Miss Hopkins had she gone with him in the end. There's a big difference between strewing some rose petals around and then actually knowing a person.
Sir Jeremy Glover is just cute as a button. And he and Miss Braund make a lovely team. I'm glad that they ended up together as well.
Miss Martin and the Hermit are too awesome. His story about her sewing his bag shut just cracked me up. Glad they ended up walking off into the hills together.
I absolutely love that Miss Conick decided that her fate in life was not to marry, and instead to become a courtesan. Rock on, sister! Seriously, she seemed like too much of her own person to be into the whole marraige thing from day one.
The Countess and Mr. GB getting it on at the end? What was that? Man, I didn't see any romantic spark between them at all this whole time. I guess they're more guarded people the whole way around, but... Damn. And was it just me, or did Mr. GB get hotter and hotter as this show went on? The end, with him in his bathrobe and his bedhead (who knew his hair could get mussier?), that was just GUH. Also, I loved when he said candidly to the camera that the chaperones could go fuck themselves. HA!
Speaking of the chaperones, am I the only one who thinks Mrs. Rogers was a little too high in her horse, and enjoyed watching Mrs. Enright tell her off? Seriously, that woman was a little too big in her britches for my liking.
And seriously, how tired am I of the Lady Devonport/Mr. Foxsmith romance? So tired of it. Giving him your grandmother's wedding ring to give to the next woman he falls in love with? Maybe some people find that sweet, but I find it tacky. Tacky, tacky, tacky. Just like his hats. I won't miss that, I'll tell you that.
Oh, and how great was it during the servants' dinner when one of the footman took a piss, just so Mr. GB would have to empty the chamber pot? Awesome. That's a ballsy dude right there. Rock on, footman!
All in all, a very satisfying program. I wish it lasted longer, but it was quite enjoyable just as it is. I'd almost like to see how the people felt re-adjusting to modern life after living in the Regency House for so long. But hey, that's what the website is for, right?
