More vacation blatherings

So dinner reservations for the Disney trip have been made. Because we waited so long, there are certain things we couldn't get. Namely, dinner at Cinderella's castle. We can't really do lunch there, either, since this month is the Princess & Pirate Party, which means lunch at the castle is overrun by little girls in costumes. That would be cute as a button (as
georgevna's daughter has proven), but I think I'd not rather be forced to eat with dozens upon dozens of kids in costumes if I don't have to. No offense. So yeah, no dinner at the castle, but I'll live. It's my own fault for waiting so long, and honestly, I may not have been able to get reservations as it were. All the websites say to call exactly 180 days in advance, which is the soonest you can get them. I'll live, though.
So here's what we did get...
At the Magic Kingdom, we're having dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern. We had to book early enough so that we'd be able to see the fireworks display at 8:00. Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto will be there. Heh. On the WDW website, it says that we can "taste the revolution!" and "make a declaration to eat here!" Wow.
At MGM Studios, we're going to eat at the Sci Fi Dine-In. The food isn't supposed to be all that great, but the ambiance looks awesome. So I figure we'll waste one of our sit-down dinner passes on something fun, rather than something good. Plus, their booze-y drinks sound way tasty (even if our meal plan doesn't cover the cost of those).
EPCOT was a bit of trouble, reservation-wise. Both of us have heard wonderful things about Le Cellier, the Canadian steakhouse that's supposed to have some amazing cheddar cheese/beer soup. Yes, please! However, we couldn't get reservations that weren't during the big fireworks display. Boo. So instead I booked us at the Coral Reef for lunch. One whole wall of the restaurant is the giant aquarium, with sharks and sea turtles and stuff. Awesome.
We're not planning on staying at Animal Kingdom too long, since there are only a few things we want to check out there. But we're starting out by going to Breakfastosaurus at the park. Yes, really. But it's supposed to be this amazing breakfast buffet, with eggs and quiche and cinnamon French toast that's to die for. Plus, Mickey, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy. Heh, again. So we're doing that, checking out the park, and then later using the park hopper pass to go back to EPCOT to Le Cellier. Hooray! Our reservations are during the fireworks display, but I figure it won't matter since we'll have seen them the night before. So I am pleased.
Overall, I think this works out pretty well. The Scientist is good with the reservations I've booked, so that's a relief. (I couldn't remember if he had wanted to go to the Liberty Tree or the Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom, but I guess I chose correctly.) So it's only 18 days left, and I couldn't be more excited. Wheeeeeee!
