Batman in Chicago!

The Dark Knight has officially begun filming in Chicago. Right now they've transformed the old post office at Wacker & Van Buren into the Gotham National Bank. More info can be found here and here.

For anyone interested, the code name for this movie is "Rory's First Kiss." So if you see any signs around about parking restrictions for RFK, that's Batman.

Well, the BIG stalking will have to happen after principle filming is done in London. So, say, June or so.

But I think tomorrow at lunch I'm going to walk down and take pictures of the Gotham National Bank facade.

I've been re-reading my Catwoman short-syory anthology from 1992 on the commute this week, and was actually mentally writing the sequel inside my head this morning on the train (Summer Glau as Talia al Ghul and Alexa Davalos as Selina Kyle). I still need to mentally cast Holly, and a slew of Falcone's men.

Someday I so totally need to write that.

It's so funny that you posted this, I was on the Chicago filming site just this morning checking out what was new in the area. I typed Rory's First Kiss into IMDB and it brought me right to The Dark Knight site - they are clearly not as cryptic as they thought.

As for whether or not it was The Dark Knight, I doubt it. I think filming began on Monday and is ending this Saturday.

Well, all you'll see right now is a school bus inside the old post office. There aren't any actors on set yet, just the stuntmen and extras as needed. All the principle shooting will happen in the summer.

Yup. He and the chick who play Bianca didn't have their contracts renewed. But now Bianca is in love with Zoe, and Zoe's in love with Bianca, so I think once the two of them figure it out, they're probably going to have them "go away" together, never to be seen in Pine Valley again.

Frankly, I'm hoping the two of them go to live with Zoe/Zarf/Freddie's mom, who was the mom on Freaks and Geeks. Because the idea of Erica Kane's daughter living with her transgendered lesbian lover under the roof of Mrs. Weir makes me all kinds of happy.

And I really need a Zarf icon...
