Adventures of a Monday night

Last night I did not go to the movie, but instead stayed home so that I could help my sister-in-law S get boxes from the garage rafters. What fun! But first, when I got home I let the cat out into the yard so that she could roam around in the grass. A little while later, I realized she'd been out for an awfully long time, so I popped my head outside to see what she was up to. The cat was standing stock-still, staring intently at the garden. I called to her, and instantly she pounced, and I heard a high-pitched "eeet eeet eeet!" coming from her direction. It seems my cat was stalking the local chipmunk, and apparantly had caught it. I didn't want it to bite her so I ran to grab her, and the cat was all crazy-eyed and frantic because she had pounced on a tiny animal (which is new to her). Oh, the excitement that is the life of an indoor cat outside! Of course, now I'm going to have to supervise her outdoor romps, so that she doesn't have a throw-down with the chipmunk again, or in case that neighborhood cat tries to jump over our five-foot fence again...
So eventually S came over to get the boxes, and I had our crazy Gorilla ladder all set up in the garage. Now, the Gorilla ladder is awesome, as you can make it whatever height you want. But it hates me. Seriously, the ladder NEVER cooperates with me. I was very pleased that I actually got it to work by the time S arrived. So she and I got all the boxes out of the garage rafters, and we went to load them into her car. However, the garage door lift button was hit before the ladder was moved entirely out of the way, and the door hit the ladder and popped the track to jump the top of the ladder. O_O!!! Seriously, the ladder didn't tip over, it broke the garage door. The ladder hates me. S and I spent the next half hour trying to pop the garage door roller back onto the track. There was much sweating, swearing, and bug bites. But we fixed it, and everything works fine now. Thank God.
In other news, I made plans with my dad to go up to Michigan after work on Friday. He's not telling my mom that I'm coming, so she should be surprised. I don't know if he'll tell my uncle that I'm coming, so it could be a double-whammy surprise, I'm not sure.
Of course, going to my parents' house this weekend means that I'll miss out on not one, but TWO movies that I'm dying to see. You know how this summer has had pretty crappy movies? Well, the two I've really been looking forward to are Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (despite my ever-growing dislike for Michael Cera's shtick) and The Expendables. THE EXPENDABLES!!! I feel like this movie's title should be shouted at all times. I cannot wait to see this crazy-ass action film. It looks INSANE. And it's all old-school action stars who literally beat the crap out of one another on set. AWESOME!!! However, they will both have to wait till next week. Oh well.
Tonight is super TV night: White Collar, Covert Affairs, and Warehouse 13. Yay! Tuesday nights are the best.
Also, I woke up an hour early and I had a surprisingly productive morning. Changed the cat litter, collected the garbage for pickup, made coffee, and walked a mile. All before 7 am on a Tuesday!
