So, let's see...

Last night there were big storms in the Chicagoland area, so we had to shut up all the windows in our house. And then the temperature started to rise. We turned on the A/C, but when we woke up this morning it was 81° inside. Boooooooo. We think the A/C is dead. Of course, it's supposed to be something like 88° tomorrow. Suck. Anyway, we may have to get a new A/C unit for our house. Seeing as how the current one is original to the 30-some-year-old house, it wouldn't surprise me if it actually is dead. And our furnace is original, too, and that should probably get replaced. Every year it goes out at least once, and last year our repair guy said we might be able to eek another year out of it... Replacing one or the other doesn't sound fun OR cheap, so we'll have to see what happens. Stupid homeownership, full of expenses we don't want or need!
So, Warehouse 13 ended its season last night. Yup, HG was a bad guy after all. Boo, I kind of liked her. Here's a question: exactly when did HG decide to destroy the world? I'm kind of fuzzy on the timeline. We know that MacPherson de-bronzed her, right? Am I correct in believing that he did so because she could find Warehouse 2, and together he'd be able to fence priceless artifacts from W2, therefore getting rich? Except that she killed him and went AWOL, and then showed up pretending to be good. So when she played her "I want to be a Warehouse agent" shtick, she had already decided to destroy the world? Is that right? Because I'm not exactly sure when she made that decision. It was obviously after she got out of the Bronze Sector, because she said she expected the future to be a "utopia," and it's worse. So it's not like she was de-bronzed by MacPherson with a plan to destroy the world already in place, right?
What else to say about this episode? It sucks for Pete that he and Kelly broke up, but I didn't really buy them as a couple. It seemed like them went from "I hate you, I'm gonna pull your hair" to twoo wuv almost overnight. I did like how Pete was the one debating on quitting the Warehouse and Myka talked him into staying, only to quit herself. Ooooooh, bait & switch! I can understand her reasons for leaving, but I'm sure next season will start with Pete having a new partner (Claudia as an apprentice?) and then them needing Myka back and spending one or two episodes convincing her that the Warehouse isn't the same without her. (I've seen TV before!) I loved the Artie & Claudia scenes. They're such a dad/daughter pair. And finally, it was nice to see Leena actually active in the episode. And Mrs. Fredrick was awesome as always.
Tomorrow is my oldest nephew's birthday.
yakgirl bought a pair of Star Wars walkie-talkies that will be given to him in our name. I think that's a fitting gift, seeing as how the Scientist and I are both Star Wars nerds. I mean, not to the point where we got married dressed as Admiral Ackbar and Mon Mothma, but still nerdier than your average Star Wars fans. Anyway, hooray for Star Wars birthday presents!
(Speaking of Ackbar, why wouldn't you want him for your college mascot? I would!)
