In honor of it being October, and with this being Halloween's month, I thought I's make a post about things that frighten me. In no particular order, some random things that give me the heebie-jeebies are:

Daddy long-legs
Zombies
Being chased
Tornadoes
Mummenschanz

Care to share your irrational scares in comments? Come on, it'll be fun to see what weird things freak other people out.

Finding crusty old boogers glued to a wall of my house behind a piece of furniture.

Ewwwww.

And yes, this happened.

zombie phobia solidarity!

There's no reason for it. All the other horror creatures are fine, but zombies give me nightmares.

Also spiders, toads, and frogs.

Toads and Frogs cause my body to freeze up when I see them - I used to go catch frogs & tadpoles with my brother all the time, but then when I was about 7 or 8, a kid at the frog jumping contest at our summer festival thought it would be awesome to stomp behind his frog with his cowboy boots to make it jump, and he, uh, kinda didn't aim properly. Have had a fear of stepping on one since then, and my body just kinda freaks out and is paralyzed for a second or two whenever I see one. Then it releases, I can move, and I kinda freak out and run away like a big girl.

Birds. I have ornithophobia. For no reason that I can understand, I've always been terrified of them. Not just scared- literally, unreasoning terror. I've been trapped in my car, unable to get out cause a bird's next to my door. Once, a big seagull type thing (or pelican? the bird with the hanging thingie under his mouth) landed next to me at a park by the river; the next thing I knew I was a half mile away and totally lost. I'd run screaming and had to be located by some of the group I was with; they didn't know what happened, just that I freaked out and fled like my arse was on fire. So, umm. Yeah. Birds. I expect one day, one will touch me and I will just stroke out and die right there.

Spiders

The idea that maybe I'll drive off a bridge and land in a lake, and then I can't get everyone out of the van, so the Monkeys drown.

The Monkeys sleep in the front of the house, and Mr. Sun and I sleep in the back. I'm afraid someone will break in the front door, go upstairs, and kill the boys, and I won't know about it.

I also don't like to take showers when I'm alone in the house.

I don't even know, Eee.
