Feb. 13th, 2007 03:16 pmIt is beyond snowy today. It started sometime early this morning and hasn't let up yet. Because Oak Park's parking restrictions are screwy at best, and their snow restrictions are worse, I'm taking my car to my parents' house tonight. Who knows how long it will take to drive out there. It won't be good. Rather than having my parents drive me back tonight, I'm going to crash out at their place and then take the train back into the city in the morning. I'm taking my cat with me to dump her with them for a few days, as tomorrow night I'll be out all evening with the Scientist for Valentine's Day. We're going to Medieval Times for dinner. HEE! It's so cheesy, I love it. I mean, this is going to be a Valentine's dinner that's memorable, you know? Heh.
With all the snow today, I'm worried that his present tomorrow won't be delivered on time. I ordered this for him and had it sent to his lab. I mean, what DO you gets guys for Valentine's Day, anyway? As interesting and well-rounded as he is, I couldn't think of a single thing to get him. I am no good at this! But I figured he'd (hopefully) get a kick out of this, since he's a scientist and all. Plus, he'll get all embarassed having something like this delivered to him at the lab, in front of all his coworkers. Heh. As a backup, just in case it doesn't come through, I got him this huge book about art history from ancient Greek sculptures to pop art. And a bottle of the Sweetheart Red wine that I picked up at the Lynfred Winery we went to last month, inside a vintage map-decorated wine box. So I'm pretty sure I have my bases covered. But still, I'm kind of nervous that either he won't like what I got him, or it won't arrive on time. I hope neither happens.
Dear God, the snow is just so blustery out there! I mean, that isn't too inviting, you know?
Last night my sister called to tell me the World's Ugliest Dog Competition was on TV. Man, those were some UGLY dogs. I was actually creeped out by a few and had to change the channel for a bit. But nothing compares to the previoius ugliest dog, Sam. Seriously, DO NOT click that link unless you're ready to be grossed out. That dog, while I'm sure it was sweet, looked like what you'd expect a DEMON to look like. For real. Ew. So yeah, that made for some interesting TV last night.
...Anyway, I'm just procrastinating. I don't want to go out in the snow, but I don't want to be here, either.
ETA: Robbie Williams is back in rehab for prescription drug addiction. Poor Robbie. :(
