Saying "no" is fun!

My boss Pete (the cool one) just came over to ask me if I would be able to take a CD-ROM home tonight for beta testing. To which I replied, "No." He looked at me, and I said, "It's my best friend's birthday tonight, and I promised to take him out for dinner. I don't know if I'll have time, and I don't want to say yes if I can't come through for you. So, no."

Ah, the power of it all! Telling the boss "no" is such a great feeling. Besides, it's not like they'd pay me for the time I'd be sitting there, watching I Love the 90s and clicking buttons. Oooh, that reminds me. I need to set my VCR to tape '96 and '97 tonight while I'm out.
