Anyone want to go see Phoenix with me on Wednesday, Sept. 23? Tickets are $20 at the Riviera.

Saw Julie & Julia last night and enjoyed it. ( Cut for basic plot spoilers. )
Anyway, good movie, good laughs, good performances. That said, I'd recommend not going to this film on an empty stomach, as it will make you hungry. We saw it at a movie theater/restaurant where we were served dinner while we watched. That's the way to see this film. Even if you're just having a burger and not vichyssoise, it'll get you through better than just a tub of popcorn. This movie is total food porn.

Yesterday was a bad day. I spent a lot of my workday trying to hold it together, though I did have a breakdown in the bathroom. (Hey, you're allowed to cry at work when someone dies.) I'm just still blown away that George is gone. He was only 29. That's just too young. I've never lost a friend before, especially not someone younger than me. It just scares me. He was too young to go. It's not fair. I can't even begin to imagine how his parents and Nat are doing. I just saw her two months ago when we went out to Palm Springs, and now I'll be seeing her again when I go downstate for the funeral. This isn't how it's supposed to be. I know I'm going to be a wreck when I see her. Losing a sibling, especially your only sibling, must be so hard. Poor Nat...
