Still no internet or cable TV at our house. We had arranged for the cable guy to come and check things out this weekend, but he never came. The cable company claimed that they called the Scientist three times. However, the call log on his phone only had one call from them, not three. And he tried to call them back to confirm that I was home waiting while he was out, but they never answered. (Plus, we know his phone log works properly, because we spent an hour at the T-Mobile store earlier this weekend having them rebuild the software on his phone specifically because the call log wasn't registering. So screw you, cable company!) The guy is supposed to come tonight, but I doubt anything will be fixed. I think that when the utility guys were doing work next to our house last week, they cut the cable to our house. :| Not pleased.

Also fun: this morning there was a rollover semi on the highway going to work, and all lanes were blocked. Thankfully my coworker called to warn me, and I got on the roads early and took a side route. Of course, the side route was under construction. That wouldn't have been too much of an issue since I was on the road earlier than normal, but then I got stopped by a train, and I ended up being five minutes late to work anyway. Boo.

And so is cable TV! Hooray! And just in time for TV show finales!

Assume spoilers for HIMYM and TBBT. )

In other news, I finished Silver Borne the other day. It took me only two evenings to whip through that puppy. Good book. Spoilers for the second half. )

I must have more things to talk about, but I'm not sure what they are. Oh, Sex and the City 2 is coming out this weekend, and I'm not embarrassed to say that I plan on seeing it. Come on. An entire theater filled with drunk ladies all simultaneously cooing over Carrie Bradshaw's crazy-gorgeous shoes? Yes, please. Sure, the characters are mostly despicable. I don't care. I will be seeing it. Too bad I can't go to the midnight showing like last time. The entire theater lobby was filled with drunk women in their mid-30s to late 40s, all dressed like hos and drinking pink cocktails. That was an experience.

Oh, everyone has to go here and read this post about hilarious mistakes from term papers. [livejournal.com profile] aunt_deen is a teacher friend of [livejournal.com profile] jennlavigne, who in turn is a teacher and my sister ([livejournal.com profile] yakgirl)'s BFF. So I promise you this isn't one of those "stupid things students wrote" e-mail chains that gets passed around year after year. These are fresh mistakes, all about Beowulf and Aragorn and romantic poets. And Hitler. Of course, there's Hitler. Just go read. It's good for some LOLs.
