Hey, Chicago people. You know how there was that barge explosion last night? Yeah, I saw that shit go down. From ten miles away. I was driving home from work and was caught in the traffic on 290 just west of Manheim, up on the hill. So I was just sitting there, watching the cars on Manheim, and all of a sudden I saw this burst of flames off on the horizon, followed by a quick flash. There was a traffic helicopter flying over, and I figured if something had actually gone on, it would be heading towards the fireball I just saw. But it turned away towards the TriState, so I figured I probably didn't just see a massive fireball in the sky. (Because really, how often do you see THAT happen?) But then I saw a lot of smoke, so I turned on WLS on the radio, and a few minutes later they reported the explosion. I'm just weirded out by the fact that I saw that happen from at least ten miles away. That must have been fucking huge.
