I went to my parents' house tonight after the family get-together. Mom and Dad have the Christmas village up. I thought y'all might want to see the beginning of the insanity that is my parents' house during the holidays. Just wait till you see the trees.

That is extensive. It's almost a shame that real people can't live in that village, it's so carefully arranged. And I can't wait to see the tree. I look forward to it every year. It's just so insane! In a really good way.

TreeS. Plural. Mom started using my grandma's old artificial last year, just because the big tree upstairs couldn't take it all. And then there's another 4-foot skinny tree that gets decorated with tiny ornaments. Craziness, I say.

That is AWESOME. I, too, love "Swiss dude with the cow," though I love even more that he shares his village with a motorcycle gang. Hee!

Now if only there were Swiss cows on motorcycles...

trees with an intentional 's', non?

That sounds very awesome (and a little bit psycho).

Yup. See my response to [livejournal.com profile] dionneshea above. I'll take pictures every time I go over, just so y'all can see the crazy in its entirity.

The villages never cease to fascinate me. I mean, there's a downtown and residential areas! There's zoning.

The doorway looks very pretty and festive, yay!

The sad part is that the village isn't completely finished. Mom usually hangs miniature garlands of colored lights across the shopping area, and this year she has a bunch of wreaths, bows, and candy cane lawn ornaments to go in front of the houses.

fuhhh-REAKSHOW.

Where's the light industry? You'll never attract enough sims without a good mix of all three zones. Maybe you should float a bond to generate growth. --Greg

You have no idea. You've never seen the Christmas tree before, have you? Oh, THEN you'll know freakshow. THEN you'll know.

There is light industry in town -- the Harley-Davidson manufacturing plant. And the mill. That should count, right?

Yep. Our mother is crazy. Eeper, thanks for posting those. One of my juniors was just staring at the first two pictures in disbelief. Believe it, my friend. I found the Waldo bike right away, and was disappointed you did not point out the Santa that flies around overhead. I love the cow, but only if it's purpose is to go to a cow funeral. :) Keep the pictures of crazy Christmas land coming!!!

Oh, don't worry. There are a lot more pictures. Including video that swoops all helicopter-like through the town. Mwa ha ha ha! But I want to re-film those with crazy Christmas music in the background. Kokomo Joe, perhaps?

The pics are great, but don't truly capture the vastness or just plain insanity of seeing it in person. That is an experience one does not forget. OOoooh! Perhaps Mom and I can stop by on Sunday so she can see it for herself?
