Seriously, is it just because I'm not buying this for myself that I forgot what day today is?

It's SERENITY Day!

That's right, girls and boys, Serenity is out on DVD today! Go buy yourself a copy! It's really good! My imaginary husband gets shirtless! You know you want to see that. C'mon! Buy a copy! You'll love it, trust me.

Also, there was an unfortunate article in EW this week stating that Joss is pretty much done with the Firefly-verse, and that Serenity is the finale, not the start to a franchise. *sigh* I pretty much knew that was coming, and I'm okay with it. But I'm gonna miss it.

Yeah, that's pretty much my thinking there. I mean, this was a damn good place to end it all. Yay. :D

Yep, damn good. And we got Simon/Kaylee, so that made me v.v. happy. It's such a great movie, so it's nice to have it end strongly. It's too bad the box office didn't measure up, but that's life, I guess.

There's always the chance that this movie will kick ass in DVD sales. Not that it's going to change much, but at least the money can flow in over home sales, you know? That would make me feel vindicated.

There's always the eventual comic books.

Yeah. I hope they continue with those. But I'm sad that I'll never get to see my imaginary husband shirtless on the big screen again. Because it's all about me and my hormones, obviously. Heh.

Although due to your icon I now I have the stupid Fruity Oaty Bar song going through my head.

"Fruity Oaty Bar! Makes a man out of a mouse..."

The best is the giant "NOT MANDATORY!" right before the octopus pops out of the cartoon woman's cleavage. Awesome.

Yay Serenity! We're actually buying two copies - one of them is getting given to my cousin as a gift, along with Firefly. Because if he can be evil and get us addicted to 24, we can be evil right back. So there.

Is that article in the EW with King Kong on the cover? 'Cause if it is, I totally missed it. Woe.

Yeah, it's in that issue. Something about "Goodbye, Firefly, hello Spike" or some such. Basically that after Joss's next movies get done, there may be direct-to-DVD movies continuing on Spike's story. Which, as much as I loved Spike back in the day, I am SO OVER. Seriously. I'd much rather see River the co-pilot, or Kaylee getting all flustered when the two men in her life (Simon and Mal) get in arguments, or Zoe carrying on, or Jayne just being Jayne. Couldn't give two happy craps about what happens/happened to Spike any more.

While I'm pretty much in the same boat as Joss, that it's nice to have a conclusion/finale to Firefly, the fact is that if any one of these franchises is going to potentially carry on, I wish to hell that it wasn't Spike.
