First and foremost, this is for [livejournal.com profile] dionneshea, who has no recollection of Jake Ryan from Sixteen Candles. Jake Ryan is nothing but the hunkiest movie guy that ever was. He's even more dreamy because Michael Schoeffling, the actor who played him, basically quit Hollywood and went AWOL to build furniture somewhere in Pennsylvania. Or so the rumor goes. The idea of Jake Ryan carving rocking chairs in some remote coal mining town just adds to the mystique. *sigh*

And now, ten unpopular opinions.

1) Hot Fuzz was not funny. That's right, I said it. Take that, Simon Pegg!

2) Dirty Dancing isn't good. My only fond memory of that movie was when Christian Kane and David Boreanaz were telling the story of how they met, because both were at a showing of it and Kane was wearing his cowboy hat in the theater, and Boreanaz started mocking him for it, and that's how they became friends.

3) Shows like Law & Order are boring. There's not much more to expound on that one, really.

4) I have no desire to see Spider-Man 3, as Spider-Man 2 sucked. Sorry, America. I was bored to tears with the second one, and I'm sure the third will suffer from cast bloat. Three villains? Really? And I'm supposed to be drawn in by Tobey Maguire going evil and looking like Chris Gaines? Not so much.

5) Indian food is, for the most part, gross. I've only had one good experience with Indian food, and that's when some friends made it. Otherwise, I've always found it stinky beyond compare and mushily gross.

6) Those chirping walkie-talkie cell phones should be outlawed. I mean it. Those are more annoying than anything else on the market. Terrible. Every time someone on the train has one of those, I want to snatch it out of their hands and throw it out the window.

1) There's a reason I only like two Tori albums: Little Earthquakes and From the Chiorgirl Hotel. The first because it's just great, and the latter because the tunes are great, it rocks out, and the lyrics aren't totally bizarro for once.

2) I like BPAL because I have fun reading about the fragrances, what goes in them, what I know I like, and finding combinations of ingredients I know I'll enjoy. It's like a treasure hunt. So far I've had really good luck finding stuff this way (rose and sandalwood are two of my favorite scents, so I know anything with those as a base will work), and I've also discovered some new scents I really like (myrrh). That said, any of the freebies I've gotten from them have sucked.

3) I had to look the tank tops up online. They are weird.

7) I rock out any time I hear "That's the Way It Is." I LOVE THAT SONG. Celine totally owns that one. And for that, I can't not like her, even in her cheesy over-the-top glory.

Um, you do know that song was written for Backstreet Boys, right? So does that now make you a BSB fan? If so, HAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!

As for the "rumor" that Jake Ryan is making furniture, it's true. I sat through one crap-tastic E! True Hollywood "Where are they now?" special or other such crap just to see the two-minute blurb about Jake. Still HAWT with the salt and pepper hair. I'd like to get my hands on his furniture.... :)

And my confession? I LOVE JOHN DENVER!!! He fills up my senses, baby!

Wait, there's actual footage of him somehwere as an adult??? I thought he was hiding from the public ll Unibomber-style. I'm going to have to go search YouTube for that link.

And I will openly admit to really liking BSB's "I Want It That Way." Despite its confusing lyrics, that is a great song.

Her covers album is pretty cool, except for "Happiness is a Warm Gun." (which The Breeders now "pwn," as the kids say)

But generally...fans ruining something?! That never happens!
