lunaris1013 posted on her LJ that she read that only 1% of women are over 5'10". That seemed really low to her, and it seems low to me as well. Do we just grow girls tall here in the Midwest? Because I know plenty of girls 5'10" or taller. Therefore, I am following in lunaris' lead and am polling you. If you're under the half inch mark, go down to the lower whole, if you're at or above the half inch mark, round up to the next inch. Not necessarily scietific, but hey, too bad.

Now, on to other things. This weekend was SO BUSY. I'm glad to be at work today where things are (for the time being) relatively quiet.
Friday night after work I rushed home and then hopped in the car to drive up to the North Side with the Scientist. We got to the theater on time to see Serenity, which I still love. Rebecca from work was there with some of her friends, as wastiaralynn and her husband. We all sat near each other, but after the movie the Scientist and I took off in search of food. By the time we ate, went back to my place to get clothing, and drive back to his place in Woodridge, it was nearly 1 a.m. Ugh.
Saturday morning we woke up late (crap!) and hustled to get ready for premarital counselling. Thankfully the church is only a five-minute drive (in bad traffic) from his apartment, so it wasn't an issue. In the end, we were one of three couples there, which was the smallest in church history. I'll go into greater detail on that in a separate filtered post. By the time mass was over, we had been at the church for seven and a half hours. We went home and vegged for a bit, then headed to Heritage Fest in Downers Grove with a bunch of the Scientist's friends. I ate my first corn dog. Tasty! By the time the fireworks were over, we were zonked. We headed home before midnight and promptly passed out.
Sunday I ended up going over to Mom & Dad's. Mom is still up in Michigan, so Dad and I went through a bunch of boxes in the laundry/storage room. I sorted things into three piles: donations, garbage, and stuff for Mom to look through later. Now my job this week is to find shelters in the area that may need clothing and toys, as I told Dad I'd have names for him by next weekend so we can get rid of the donation pile. I talked to Mom for about an hour yesterday, which was nice considering that before she left she was too frazzled to have a conversation.
Things are going better. Mom & Dad went to look at a home for Grandma on Friday, and today Mom is going to call them and see if they have an opening for Grandma. Now that Mom has made a decision to get outside care of Grandma, she seems to be a lot more relaxed. I'm glad. She and Dad have just done so much, and they can't do much more of anything. They're both at their breaking point, and Grandma isn't functioning well right now, anyway. I'm convinced this is the best choice. Please, everyone, keep your fingers crossed that this all works out well.
Work is going to be hella busy this week and next. The client just sent back their committee-approved template design. They basically want it to look like their style, not ours. ::headdesk:: I don't understand why companies say they want us to sell the book under our branding head and then don't like when we transfer the book to our branded style. How did you not see this coming? Sheesh. And of course, I can't just change it, because it has to be approved by Creative Services. Hopefully I'll be able to make the changes ASAP so that I can start working tomorrow, because we have to get this all done by the end of next week. ::double headdesk:: Thank God I'm taking Wednesday off.
Oh, keep your fingers crossed for me that it doesn't rain on Wednesday, as that's the Scientist's 30th birthday and a bunch of us have taken the day off work to go to Great America. Thunderstorms would effectively ruin the day completely, so any good weather mojo you have in you would be appreciated.
