1. Tailor / Dressmaker - Sure, I like sewing when I tried it. Why not?
2. Technical Writer - Not like I worked as a tech writer and it was my minor in college or anything...
3. Cabinetmaker - Yeah, okay. I like carpentry and interior design. This is a good combo.
4. Gunsmith - Really? Wow.
5. Electronics Assembler - I guess...
6. Sign Maker - I hope it's neon signs. That'd be cool.
7. Dental Lab Tech - I always wanted to be a dentist. No, really, I did.
8. Tool and Die Maker - Yeah, that wouldn't be bad.
9. Locksmith - Then I could break into people's houses and stuff!
10. Machinist - Would I hang out with an insomniatic Christian Bale?
11. Anthropologist - COOOOOOOL.
12. Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner - Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
13. Critic - Hell yes.
14. Furniture Finisher - Sure, I could do this.
15. Picture Framer - And this one, too.
16. Print Journalist - If I wasn't one of those heartless journalists, yeah.
17. Writer - Definitely.
18. Upholsterer - Sure.
19. Communications Specialist - What does this mean?
20. Translator - No way. 5 years of German, and all I know is "Ich bin Auslander und spreche nicht gut Deutsh. Bitte, sprechen Sie doch langsam."
21. Market Research Analyst - Maybe.
22. Boilermaker - The drink, the alum, or the actual job?
23. Vending Machine Servicer - REALLY?
24. Welder - Yes, definitely. I love welding.
25. Tilesetter - Sure. It's that whole "interior design/hands on" thing again.
26. Bicycle Mechanic - Seeing as how I've never ridden a bicycle for more than a few feet, this would be funny.
27. Activist - I'd be so angry all the time.
28. Political Aide - Blech. Politicians are crooks.
29. Musical Instrument Builder and Repairer - Fine by me. I always liked watching when the piano tuner would come to our house.
30. Auto Detailer - Sure.
31. Public Policy Analyst - Nah. It's what my best friend does, and I don't have the heart for it.
32. Autobody Repairer - Maybe. Probably not, though.
33. Carpenter - Sure.
34. Plumber - Not as sure.
35. Sheet Metal Worker - Probably not.
36. Pet Groomer - As long as I wouldn't get bitten or have to put pink bows in a dog's hair, sure!
37. Security Systems Technician - No.
38. Magician - AWESOME. Just call me Gob Bluth.
39. Makeup Artist - VERY AWESOME. I love makeup.
40. Glazier - Yes.
It's interesting how some of these jobs wouldn't have interested me years ago, like being a carpenter or glazier or furniture finisher. After working on some many trade books, I think I started enjoying hands-on stuff much more. That, and all of the HGTV I've been watching lately...

O~
my list is kick ass!
Date: 2007-09-14 12:50 am (UTC)My list is awesome. I have to admit that there's really nothing on there that I'd HATE doing. And most jobs are ones I'd kill to have. You can check out my top 40 on my LJ, but a couple of my favorites are #38-- medical illustrator-- how did they know I'm fascinated by the insides of people? I'm also a bit puzzled (yet intrigued) that my #3 job is addictions counselor, while #34 is a rehabilitation counselor-- aren't these the same thing? Unless it means physical rehab (like with Grandma post-hip/pelvis operation #3), and to that I say, "they wanted me to go to rehab, I said no, no no!"

Oh, would I ever...
I like how I can switch that question from one extreme to the other, and Gunsmith remains #6.
