Things are progressing okay in my world. I'm at work today, and I'm actually doing okay. I spent most of yesterday in bed, sleeping off what people here at work call "the death flu." Really, I spent all day in bed. I woke up at 8:30 when the Scientist left for work so that I could call in sick, and then slept soundly till after 10:30. Then I got up and made some tea, talked to my mom in Rhode Island, and watched some of the ANTM marathon on MTV. (That's good TV for when you're half-conscious with a fever.) Then I slept from 12:30 until around 4:45, when the Scientist called to say he was heading home. I showered, dressed, and then he picked me up to head to the jeweler. We dropped my engagement ring off with her so that they could do the final touches on my wedding band, we checked out his wedding band, and I paid for the repairs on what we believe was my great-grandmother's wedding ring. Then we went home, I ate a bowl of oatmeal (my first food of the day), and went to sleep. I had what amounted to three down comforters on top of me, and I woke up this morning drenched in sweat. On the bright side, I feel MUCH better, aside from being mildly congested. So that is good.

I only have two full days of work left. It feels very odd. But I just set up an interview with Digital People, so hopefully I'll be able to sign with them. If I can't get a full-time gig, I'll happily take temping, or temp-to-hire. Money's money, you know?

Tomorrow morning I get to wake up early and get a tooth drilled. Yay. I'm always congested when I go to the dentist. Bah. But tomorrow night is my bachelorette party, which should be fun. We're going to The Baton, which is always a blast. Drag queens are SO much better than male strippers! ;)

Oh yes, drag queens! WAY more fun indeed. And feel better. I think I'm finally hitting the tail end of my cold, and it's been a week and I'm still not 100%. And fingers crossed on the job front. Who knows, you might end up temping someplace really cool and having it go fulltime.
