I am drinking one of the $8 bottles of water that the Scientist nabbed from the Paramount dealie yesterday. For the record, $8 bottled water tastes like the distilled water my mom uses for ironing.
In other news, last night we ordered Chinese food (kung pao beef, yum!) and watched SpaceCamp. I haven't seen that movie since I was a kid. I remember loving it, and lying on my back on the floor with my legs propped over the seat on a chair, pretending I was in a shuttle waiting for liftoff. Yeah, I was a weird kid. I also used to get on my parents' rowing machine and pretend it was a land speeder from Return of the Jedi. Anyway, as an adult, SpaceCamp has some MAJOR flaws. Besides the whole premise, that is. But there are so many big names in that movie, and I had completely forgotten. I remembered Lea Thompson, of course, because I wanted to be her when I was a kid. (Had I noticed her airplane-shaped earrings, I may have thought twice about that.)
yakgirl rightly pointed out that Kelly Preston is the other main girl. Also on hand are Kate Capshaw, Tom Skerrit, "introducing" Tate Donovan, Terry O'Quinn from Lost, and little Leaf/Joaquin Phoenix. At the end of one scene, when Leaf fled from a room in tears, the Scientist cracked me up by shouting "Bye good!" at the screen. HA!!!
What else? This weekend is going to be all about Christmas preparations. I'm going to set up my Christmas village in the living room, and then spend the rest of the weekend making cookies. I have my cookie cookbook here at work today so I can flag recipes and then make a shopping list. I plan on putting my cookie press to work this weekend. Hooray! Cookies!

LOL at the "Bye Good!" comment. Hee.

Date: 2008-12-12 10:55 pm (UTC)TOTALLY. I had a lot of those moments last night while watching it. Like, when Jinx finally sees the morse code going off, and he's all "C O M E I N C O N T R O L!" And then Tom Skerrit's all "Frank, get over here and translate this!" Why not just have the damn robot continue doing it, as he's much faster and is already doing it.
Also, how come Leaf didn't get in trouble for hiding the $27 million handyman robot in his closet?
And finally, I realized that everything that happened is Tate Donovan's fault. If he hadn't stolen Hideo Takamini's place on the blue team to be with Kathryn, then he never would have been able to sneak out with her, thus causing Jinx to narc on them, causing Tate to yell at Leaf, which caused Leaf to wish to go to space, which caused Jinx to start the shuttle liftoff. So in conclusion, Tate Donovan sucks.
