My friend D e-mailed me earlier about this, and I found it too funny not to share. Apparantly, Jeremy Piven has abruptly quit the Broadway show Speed-the-Plow, written by David Mamet. Piven is sick with possible mercury poisoning. Mamet, on the other hand, has a different take on the matter. He's quoted as saying:
"I talked to Jeremy on the phone, and he told me that he discovered that he had a very high level of mercury. So my understanding is that he is leaving show business to pursue a career as a thermometer."
HA!!! Just more proof that you should never get on David Mamet's bad side, because he will always make you look like a fool.
(And for old linky humor, remember Mamet does 2001? Ah, good times.)
