Fun with cats

Today's been a fun day. I woke up early, drove back to Chicagoland, and got home right around noon. At approximately 12:32, the cat decided to pull needles off the Scientist's artificial Christmas tree and one got caught in her teeth. So the cat ran around with a green piece of plastic hanging out of her mouth, making horrible faces and sticking her tongue out in the process of trying to rid the fake needle from between her teeth. So I called my old vet and got her an appointment for 3:00 to have it removed. Of course, by then the cat had solved the problem herself, but I packed her up in her carrier anyway and took her to the vet. I'm pleased to announce that my cat is perfectly healthy, which is great because I am a terrible pet owner and hadn't brought her in for a checkup in several years. But even better is that my cat did not vomit, pee, or poo on herself during the car trip. You have no idea what a red-letter day this is, people. It's been years since she's had an uneventful car ride.
Needless to say, the cat got many treats upon arriving home unsoiled. Good job, cat!
