Remember how two days before Christmas, our stupid furnace went out? Yeah, guess what happened again? And of course, once again, the Scientist is at work. I swear, that furnace knows when I'm alone to deal with it.

Stupid furnace.

I feel your pain. My hot water heater went out tonight, and I think it's OK now after I reset it, but I won't know for sure 'til morning, when I can see if I still have hot water. I hope you got your furnace going and don't have to shiver your way through this newest spate of bad weather.

Thankfully, yes, the Scientist got it up and running last night. It seems that I'm just a moron who doesn't know how to light the pilot on the furnace. Mind you, he had to use a six-inch birthday candle held by a pair of barbeque tongs to get the candle flame anywhere near where the pilot light is located. So no wonder I couldn't get it lit by using a burning wood kebob skewer. I needed another eight inches to even get near the pilot light.

Again, stupid furnace.
