Ugh.

It's a beautiful day outside, probably record-breaking warmth for Chicagoland. But I am in A Mood. I had really bad dreams this morning, but I shook that off fast enough. I was totally fine till I got to work. The editors on my book have changed the design again, but it's not their fault and they're totally apologetic, and the redesign will actually make my job easier, so that's okay.

But then I checked my e-mail. I got a snotty message from a former co-worker, which just grates my cheese. I always got the feeling that she didn't like me, and now I'm pretty certain of it, so I just want to wipe her off my Facebook and LinkedIn completely, because she's a snot. However, we have mutual friends whom I don't want to offend by doing so, and now I'm stuck with her and her awful attitude.

Then I got a paper cut.

Then I realized that I have absolutely NOTHING to give the Scientist for Valentine's Day this Saturday, other than a card and one small gift. I FAIL. I wanted to get him something cool, but I wouldn't be able to get it in time and thought perhaps I'd save it for our anniversary. But by the time that happens, it won't be available any more at all. And that still leaves me with the issue that I have nothing for this Saturday.

I also want to plan something for our anniversary. It's our one year mark in April, and I want to make it special for him. Unfortunately, my parents have booked a trip to California on the day before our anniversary, and I have to drive them to the airport in the middle of the day. So no weekend getaways for us on our actual anniversary weekend due to that. (Thanks, Mom & Dad.) So there's always the option of doing a one-night thing on the night before our anniversary, but WHAT? Seriously, I feel like I'm a complete loser when it comes to this stuff.

There's more going on, but I don't want to get into it. Basically I've got my crankypants on, and they're strapped on good and tight.

In happier news, one of my friends from high school became a dad yesterday, so that's awesome. Yay for him and his wife!

ETA: Last night's Big Bang Theory was quite possibly one of the funniest episodes they've ever had. This might possibly rank as the Best Episode Ever.

1) I'd delete the woman anyway. Just don't bring it up to your mutual friends and I doubt they'll say anything, either.

2) Can you order the Really Cool Thing and either save it for your anniversary or do up a funny surrogate present that tells him it's coming?

3) Can you explain your dilemma to your parents and ask them to find alternate transportation? Often those people who drive you in your car to the airport, then return it to your driveway are quite affordable.

Good luck.

1) Yes, I'm thinking of it.

2) Nope. It's an event type thing, so I couldn't save it because it would already take place a month beforehand.

3) My parents are driving in from Michigan to fly out of Midway, and they're parking their car at our house rather than pay for three weeks' worth of parking. I don't blame them for that, because it would cost hundreds of dollars. But I know my parents would NEVER go for the idea you offered, because they do not do that type of thing. Really. :|

The Scientist will probably end up working that afternoon, anyway, so.
