A while ago I was all "WTF, a Phantom sequel?" And it seems that it's opened in London already, to mixed reviews.

I think the show would have gotten rave reviews if Lloyd Webber had hired yakgirl as his lyricist. Because seriously, her filking is the best.

I don't know what a filker is, but thanks! I can't wait to hear about this show-- is it seriously totally really, REALLY, 4reelz coming to Broadway??? Cuz if it is, I HAVE TO GO!!! I will make it a double feature show day, and head to both of them. It will be mine... oh yes... it will be mine....

Filking = writing new lyrics to already-existing songs, mostly in fandom. This term was coined back at one of the very first Star Trek conventions (I know, I know) when someone decided to host a Star Trek folk song contest. Except they misspelled it as "filk" and it stuck.
