Christmas is officially ON at my house, people! Currently we have lighted garland going up the staircase banister, stockings hung, the Scientist's tree is up and fully decorated, and my tree is up, lit, and about half decorated. At some point we'll have to assemble the Christmas village as well as the garland swag, and put the last of the outdoor lights out, but dudes, Christmas is ON. I am pleased.
In other news, we went to see Burlesque today. Let me describe it to you:
[(Showgirls - nudity) + Coyote Ugly + Center Stage's impossible dance routines + (Caberet - Nazis and any source of drama whatsoever) + Chicago's flashy production numbers] x Cher's glittery eye shadow
Divide all by the number of cliches, and then add bonus points for Alan Cumming
Final result: TOTALLY RIDICULOUS, but still actually better than I expected. (Then again, I was expecting something along the lines of Glitter, so take that with a grain of salt.) Also, it's LOOOOOOOONG. But if you're looking to get buzzed and watch and stupidly predictable movie purely for the glitz, this is the movie for you.
