A quick update, as today we'll be cleaning the garage and want to get that started before it gets too hot outside.
Things are going well around these parts. Work is fine, the husband is good, the baby is still growing, the house is slowly getting cleaned/gutted/prepped, etc. Last weekend I went to see my parents in Michigan, which was quite nice. I'd been missing my parents, so the Scientist said we should go up for a visit. We ended up registering for baby gifts with my mom (I thought she'd enjoy coming with us). Then the Scientist and my dad went to a car museum while Mom and I hit up a quilt store. It was a nice (albeit short) trip.
This weekend a lot of time was spent with my in-laws, as it was my father-in-law's birthday. Yesterday we went to the Rock & Gem show, which I love. I got a pair of small opal earrings for $5, and a lovely white and pale blue beaded necklace & earrings for $22. What a steal! Once again, my uncle sent me birthday present shopping for my mom. It's so much fun spending someone else's money! Last year I got her a pair of gorgeous amber earrings; this year it's a pair of larimar earrings with a matching pendant. Hopefully she'll like them.
In other news, I am LOVING A Game of Thrones on HBO. Holy crap almighty, this is a good series. Everyone backstabs everyone! Holy Pete! Though I have to admit, my favorite character is Dany (I don't know how to spell her full name. Danerys?). I love her to bits. Every time the action cuts back to Dany and the Dothraki, I get excited. I kind of hope that now that the tide has turned for poor Ned, he may form an alliance with the Dothraki if/when they invade. Seeing as how Ned was the only one that didn't want Dany killed, he may align with them. Mind you, I haven't read the books and am unspoiled for everything, so who knows what will happen. This is such a good show. Damn. I'm really glad it got picked up for another season. And I really need to read those books already.
Anyway, I gotta go. Time to eat breakfast (to ward off queasiness for the rest of the day -- thanks, baby!) and then it's off to clean the garage. Fun, fun! I hope all you Americans enjoy your day off today -- if you get the day off, that is -- and for any Canadians or Brits or Kiwis or Aussies reading, have a good Monday!
