It's that time of year again! Go Fug Yourself has officially opened voting for Fug Madness 2009. It's like March Madness except instead of college basketball, it's the worst fashion atrocities of the past year. I've got SWINTON going all the way this year. Hopefully it will end up with a final battle between her and Bai Ling, but I really think SWINTON'S going to take it all. Oh yes.

Yup. She's actually in the first bracket open for voting today. Aubrey's pretty terrifying, but I don't think she can stand a chance if she meets up with, say, Phoebe Price, Solange, or heck, even Mischa Barton.

Honestly, I think Tilda is in a category of her own and should be given a lifetime achievement award and retired. She's just that bad. Or good, depending on how you look at it.

I love Tilda Swinton. LOVE HER. She's nuts. Did you know she did a performance art piece where she lived in a glass case for a week? Or that she's been part of a polyamorous relationship for years? Or that fashion designers Viktor & Rolf created an entire show around her?

SWINTON could wear whatever she wanted, and somehow pull it off. She's got Bjork's sense of crazy fashion, but she knows it's nuts and there's kind of a wink-wink aspect of it all that makes me love it. She makes it all work somehow. LOVE HER.

But GO TEAM SWINTON! There's some good competition this year and, actually, I don't know if Bai has it in her. I feel like we barely saw her! I hope Katy Perry doesn't get too far, but I fear she might. And let's not discount Phoebe Price. Just because she does it on purpose to get attention doesn't mean she should be disqualified. I mean, I don't want her to *win*. But I think she'll rank high.

This morning when the news was covering NCAA basketball during the sports segment, I mentioned to the Scientist that there's a celebrity version I'm playing online. Without prompting, he asked if it was on that bad fashion website I like. I guilty replied yes, and said I have SWINTON going all the way. He replied -- again, unprompted -- that he'd put his bets on Bai Ling. HEE! I love him so much.

I'm with you, however, that Bai Ling didn't show enough crazy this year. She also showed some taste on occasion. Katy Perry is terrible, and I have her beating JLo early on. However, she'll be going up against either Agyness Deyn or Chloe Sevigny in round two. (I don't think Chloe has brought the fug the way Agyness has, but Chloe's a favorite nonetheless. I think that will be a tossup.) If Katy goes up against Chloe, it will be a really tough call. Against Agyness, it's in the bag for Katy. Either way, Katy will lose to SWINTON, and that's all that matters in the end.

I have Lady Gaga losing to Paula Abdul. Gaga is horrible, but hers are costumes, whereas Paula actually tries and brings the fug in ridiculous amounts.

Momsen could go really far. I have her losing to Juliette Lewis is round 2, if only because Juliette has been consistently awful for years now, and Momsen is new. She definitely has the potential for major future fug. Besides, I can't imagine Taylor Momsen beating out Phoebe Price in round 3.

I actually had Posh losing to Keira Knightly in round 1, but I think I'll change it. Posh brings the fug, but people love it. Keira hasn't done a whole lot this year, beside look emaciated. However, I can't imagine Posh beating Solange in round 2. I have Solange battling it out with Bai Ling in round 3, and my money's on Bai Ling simply because she's a favorite. I have Bai and SWINTON duking it out for the championship.

I wish I had my whole bracket here (it's on my coffee table). I don't know if Bai's going to go as far this year, simply because she hasn't done a whole lot this year. It was kind of a disappointing way to follow up her TRIUMPH, I thought.

Yup. But she did hook up with Mickey Rourke, so I guess you could say that's one way to follow up last year's win. ;)

Solange could beat Bai Ling. If that's the case, then it's definitely a win for SWINTON.

I'm really torn on the Charo Bracket, specifically Chloe Sevigny vs. Agyness Deyn. I just checked their archives from the past year, and Agyness is MUCH worse that Chloe. However, Chloe is a favorite and could pull higher votes just because of that. Katy will win against either one in round 3, just because her record from this past year is AWFUL.

Over in the Cher bracket, I really don't want Phoebe Price to go far. She's TERRIBLE, everything about her is TERRIBLE, and I fear that if she makes it to the Final Four we'll be validating her existence on this planet. I'm only taking her so far because of that alone. I hope voters will only put up with her so much, and then be like "You don't deserve to go any farther" and Lindsay Lohan will beat her. I mean, Lindsay tries and fails. Okay, I just checked the archives (which I really should have done before filling out my bracket), and I've changed my mind. While Juliette has made some bad choices (http://gofugyourself.celebuzz.com/assets_c/2008/11/83731892-thumb-420x633.jpg), it just can't top the total (http://gofugyourself.celebuzz.com/assets_c/2009/02/spl77871_011-thumb-420x619.jpg) crap (http://gofugyourself.celebuzz.com/assets_c/2008/12/83893106-thumb-420x629.jpg) she wore as legitimate fashion. And even before she had the bad hair, the outfits were still not (http://gofugyourself.celebuzz.com/2008/08/25/82538978-thumb-420x287.jpg) good (http://gofugyourself.celebuzz.com/2008/08/18/spl44710_011-thumb-420x657.jpg). So yeah. Momsen beats Juliette. Which means she just could be Lindsay, but seeing as how 1/3 of the stuff in Momsen's archives is from the set of Gossip Girl and therefore isn't her choice, I just can't vote her in the Final Four.
