This morning did not go well. I woke up after having dreamt all night that all my friends were breaking up and/or moving away. It's bad when you Wake Up Emo. So then I was getting ready for work, and the cat wanted to go in the yard, so I propped open the door for her. When I went to bring her in a few minutes later, she was nowhere to be seen. There was checking of the foliage in the yard, then checking the house, then checking under beds, in closets, under furniture, and she was nowhere. So then the Scientist got dressed and came to help look, and the house was checked twice more, and then we wandered around the neighborhood because we couldn't find her and we thought maybe she had squeezed under the gate. And the cat was nowhere to be found. At this point I'm nearly hyperventilating, and I'm red and trying not to cry and I'm sweaty because of freaking out, and the cat is STILL nowhere to be found. 15 minutes after I was supposed to have left for work, the Scientist found the cat. She was inside the house somewhere, presumably hiding in the bathtub, which was the one place I didn't look. STUPID CAT. Of course, I burst into tears when she was found. I am beyond relieved that she's okay and never got out of the yard in the first place, but from now on she's only going outside when she's being supervised, because I am NOT going through that again.

Yesterday the Scientist and I went to get new phones. We're both on T-Mobile, but our phones are so obsolete that they aren't capable of doing the MyFaves deal. So in order to get that program, we need new phones. We went to Sam's Club to check prices there, and phones were half of what T-Mobile was offering online, so we were like "Yay, new phones!" Except for some reason, the T-Mobile account that Sam's Club could pull up online said that while the Scientist could upgrade his phone at the super-discounted price, I was not eligible. WTF? I have a text message on my phone from [livejournal.com profile] queenofalostart dating to March 2006. My phone is OLD, yo. I want a new one! Anyway, we talked to T-Mobile later and they said that they'd re-set the account so that Sam's Club can (hopefully) view me as eligible, and I can get a new phone today. We'll have to see what happens when I head over there tonight.

The Scientist and I have been watching The Middleman all weekend. Hot damn, I love that wacky show. That is all.

This weekend I booked the second half of the Super Family Vacation. My father-in-law is taking all of us (him, his wife, all six kids, two daughters-in-law, and two grandsons) on a 3-day cruise to the Bahamas in October. He had a timeshare booked in Florida for after the cruise, and so some of us were going to stay there for a few days post-cruise to get in some more vacation time. Originally it was supposed to be him, his wife, two daughters, one son, and the Scientist and me. He and I thought that was too many people to stay at the timeshare condo, so we decided to stay at one of the Walt Disney World hotels. This weekend I booked us for two nights at the All-Star Movies hotel (it's the off-season sale, so we got the room for 28% off), along with two-day park passes with the park-hopper option. The Food & Wine Festival is going on at Epcot while we're there, so we'll hit that up. And then we'll hit up some of the other parks when we can (taking advantage of the extra hours that come as a perk of being a resort guest).

I'm looking forward to this vacation. It will be nice to just relax on the cruise ship. I have no idea what we'll do in Nassau; has anyone been there before? What would you recommend doing? I wouldn't mind going snorkeling again. I enjoyed it in Cozumel, and I'm assuming the water would be better for snorkeling in the Bahamas. And then it will be nice to do a quickie Disney trip. At this point, it might end up being just me, the Scientist, and his sister J, as his brother and sister S don't want to go. Who knows what his parents will decide to do for that part of the vacation. Anyway, I'm glad the Scientist and I were at Disney World a few years ago, so that we won't feel like we're missing out on a lot by only going for two days.

This weekend is Spring Awakening. I have no idea what to expect.

My sister and her family are coming to town this weekend. I am looking forward to seeing them all again.

Terminator Salvation is playing at the Scientist's theater. I may see it this week with one of our friends.

[livejournal.com profile] aj, are you still interested in hanging with us? Tuesdays and Thursdays work well, and possibly Friday (if the Scientist isn't working, which he doesn't think he is).

And that's all I got.

ETA: Dammit, I just accidentally deleted ALL of my replies to this post, instead of just one doulbe-response. STUPID LJ.

I went to Nassau for work and stayed a few extra days. My clients insisted we go to that huge hotel that's all famous. It is pretty impressive actually just to wander around but insanely expensive. The dock where the cruises come in seemed to be all touristy. I bought some woven baskets. I think we also went on a run tour of some kind.

We swam with stingrays and went to a special beach that was pretty cool but you had to pay to get in. Honestly, it was nothing I would normally do or be interested in but I don't think that part of the world holds much interest for me! If you want to do anything non-touristy you'd have to get a car to get away from town I'd guess.

Yeah, like a market but with mostly junk. If you have any time just try to get out of that immediate area.

I know no details of the stingray/beach deal since it was arranged by the client. Basically they managed to force me into a bathing suit every year on our photo shoots so it wasn't a happy time for me!

I was in Nassau back in '91 but only for a short stop that was part of a cruise. I don't really remember much from it...that might have been the place with the big casino. I do remember that Freeport was ugly back then. What other stops is your cruise making?

Hope you have fun!

Whooo, boy, am I! I'll vote for Thursday or Friday. I'm off Friday, so I can be out at any time that day and I may spend the day poking around the BNSF train route until it's time to be out near you. I keep meaning to do that and never manage it. :\

And yay! MIDDLEMAN and VACATION and cat being okay! I envy your Disney excursion.

Spring Awakening the musical? I saw it in Baltimore, also not knowing what to expect. I'll be interested to know what you thought!

I... am impressed by your skills!

Also, that sounds fine for Thursday. I've been of and on watching BN this season so I actually know what's going on! \o/ And any excuse to go to Sweet Tomato(es?) is a good excuse for me.

Let me check with the Scientist tonight to get the times all worked out. Since he's not working that evening, he can always pick you up a bit early so that we'll have plenty of time for dinner and then home in time for Burn Notice. I'll give you a call, since I obviously have terrible LJ-skills today.

oh, you're gonna be wounded...

Hey-- can't wait to see you this weekend. Not sure exactly when we're coming or what the plans are yet... but I do know that I have a copy of the SA soundtrack to give to you. I KNOW you'll want it. It is the best. show. ever.

EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go to the website and watch some of their short videos-- it should give you a taste of the show-- or just youtube the tony award performance-- a short medly of the numbers in the show with the original cast (they were AWESOME!!!)-- but seeing as how I saw the touring cast, too (who were also great), I can guarantee you'll have a wonderful time. I would give my right eye to be in the cast of that show. Seriously.

I feel your cat-generated pain! I live in fear of one of my critters getting out and lost or hurt or killed. I would have been shaking. But at least she's safe, and now she has only herself to blame for her freedom being curtailed.
